Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) is a public university located in India that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in architecture and related disciplines. It was founded in the year 2008 and earlier to this the institution was the College of Architecture and Planning which was a part of Osmania University. JNAFAU is affiliated to the AICTE and UGC where it receives necessary approvals and accreditation from the commission. Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. BACHELOR OF ARCHITECTURE (B.Arch) – As per the above-said UGC guidelines for the admissions in B.Arch course, the candidates have to pass the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and with 50% of the marks in aggregate. They must also pass through university entrance examination before they can be considered for any admission.
2. Bachelor of Design (B.Des) – Applicants must complete 10+2 or equivalent with a 50% average. There are no direct admission to this university and one has to qualify through their university entrance exam or merit in the qualifying test.
3. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) - The candidate must have completed their 10+2 examination in any stream or equivalent examination scoring more than 50% marks in aggregate. The admissions will thus be based on an aptitude test administered by the university for practical reasons.
4. Master of Architecture (M.Arch) – It is a two years course and the candidate must possess a B.Arch degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. It is brought to a valid GATE score or through the university entrance test.
5. Master of Design (M.Des) – For admissions the candidates must have passed the Bachelor degree in Design/ Architecture with minimum 55% marks. It is an autonomous institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai and offers admission to M.Tech for which valid GATE score or merit is considered.
