Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a public university that falls under the central universities category situated in New Delhi, India. JNU was set up in 1969, it is UGC recognized university and has been NAAC ‘A+’ graded university of India. In the latest NIRF rankings of top universities announced recently, JNU stands at the second position among universities in India.
The university provides a number of undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD programs in diverse areas of study, such as arts, social science, languages, life sciences, computer and systems sciences, and many others. Jawaharlal Nehru University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For Under graduate programs passed 10 + 2 or equivalent exam with minimum marks as per course requirement.
2. For postgraduate programs, they should be having a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject and minimum percentage marks should be around 50-55%.
3. For MPhil, postgraduate degree with minimum passing marks of 55% or its equivalent grade.
4. For PhD, postgraduate degree from a recognized university with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade. Qualifying exam required.
5. Also for integrated programs 10+2 examination pass certificate is required and minimum marks requirement vary according to the program.
6. Reservation norms are also set based on government guidelines. Reduction in cut-off marks for the reserved category students. Special considerations to some backgrounds in some programs.
Jawaharlal Nehru University Placements 2024
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) enjoys a very high reputation and gets the best softwares and IT firms for its campus placements because of the quality of education imparted and research oriented approach adopted. Industries like McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Tata Administrative Services, Reliance, IBM and Wipro etc. are few of the prime recruiters that offer placement to students. A total of 546 students were placed in multiple designations in 2023 having the highest salary package of 29.5LPA in DeepMind. According to 2014 placement statistics, the median salary offered to the students was Rs 8.8 lakhs per annum. The opportunity to get a job offer was seized by about 75% of the students who initially registered for campus placements to work in fields of management, research, analytics, consulting, and software services with renowned companies.
