Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University Bijapur (KSAWU Bijapur) is a state level public university located in Bijapur, Karnataka meant only for women’s education. Established in 2003 through an Act of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly it has been accredited by the University Grants Commission. It is received the ‘B’ grade accreditation from NAAC, KSAWU Bijapur categorized in the band of 101-150 in the ranking of the university in India as per NIRF 2023.
KSAWU Bijapur provides different kinds of courses in faculties of Arts, Commerce and Management, Science, Education and Languages. Some of the most sought after courses are the undergraduate programs such as the BA, B.Com, BCA, BBA, the post graduate programs like the MA, M.Com, MBA, M.Sc and the teaching programs like the B.Ed among others. Most intakes depend on the performance in the qualifying examination used to admit students to the various programs.
KSAWU Bijapur students are placed in many organizations and companies through mutual tie-ups with the industries and research organizations. Some of the reputed companies that recruit candidates include Decathlon, infosys, tech mahindra, wipro, ICICI Bank and indiabulls etc. Around 80% of the eligible students got placed in 2022 through campus placements and internships across different profiles in terms of jobs and internship opportunities with average salary package of 3-4 LPA.
