Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) is one of the prominent universities in India established in 1959 at Ramtek, Maharashtra which is dedicated to Sanskrit and Indic studies. KKSU was set up in 1997 by the Government of Maharashtra and it is accredited by the University Grants Commission. NAAC has awarded it a grade ‘A’, with the university’s CGPA of 3.11 and ranked 75 among Indian universities according to NIRF 2023.
KKSU is a multi-disciplinary institution that teaches numerous courses in different fields with Sanskrit as a core subject. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and certificate programs in areas such as Veda, Vyakaran, Sahitya, Darshan, Jyotish, Dharmashastra, Sanskrit Teacher Training and many more. The admission in the 2024 batch will be from May 2023. Eligible candidates may apply online through the official website by following the below path or any of the designated centres. This is set to take place in June 2023 through the entrance exam. The selected candidates will also undergo counselling sessions according to their merit scores before admission.
KKSU has a well-developed internship and placement network in existence through its Centre for Career Counselling & Placement. The students have been placed in different public and private sectors in the past years as well. Some of the known recruiters are Reserve Bank of India, Archaeological Survey of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce etc. The students have been hired in various posts such as Translators, teachers, content writers etc. The average salary offered ranges between 3-5 lakhs per annum. The maximum salary said to have been offered is up to 8 lakhs per annum. KKSU has designed its curriculum in such a way that focuses more on the industries and offered its training to produce the pool of Sanskrit scholars who are willing to serve in the modern world.

Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sanskrit – The candidate must have passed 12th standard or equivalent exam from any recognized board and the candidate must have studied Sanskrit as one of the subjects. Minimum percentage required differs depending on the category.
2. For Bachelor of Education (BEd) – Graduation in any stream with Sanskrit as one of the subjects is required. Minimum percentage in graduation is also different according to the category. Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test of the concerned state.
3. For admission to MA in Sanskrit – Graduation in Sanskrit with minimum aggregate percentage as prescribed. Till this, higher percentages were needed to be secured for open category.
4. For the Integrated Program of Shastri (BA) and Acharya (MA) – candidate passed 10+2 examination with Sanskrit as a subject with minimum number of marks according to the norms of respective reserved categories.
5. For Ph.D & Vidyavaridhi in Sanskrit – Post graduation in Sanskrit with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/Physically challenged candidates). Students must qualify through entrance examination and interview.
6. For Diploma programs in Spoken Sanskrit, Pourohitya, Translation – Generally 10+2 pass or equivalent is required. Released in a statement, the OBC/SC/ST students who were unable to achieve the minimum required marks in the exams could now take a sigh of relief.

Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University has moderate records of placing its students in campus interviews. During the placement season of 2021-22, a total of 102 students got placed in the different companies. Infosys offered the highest salary package of Rs. 8 lakhs per annum and the median salary package was Rs. 4.2 lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Infosys, Tcs, Wipro, Tech mahindra and Hcl. In the previous year, 68% of the overall eligible candidates were placed. The placement cell always brings more companies on the campus each year. There are provisions for training and preparation for placements right from the beginning of the course.
