King George’s Medical College, is a medical college, hospital and a research facility in Lucknow in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was founded in the year 1911 and it is approved by the Medical Council of India as well as the World Health Organization. KGMU has NAAC Grade: A, It has ranked 6 on NIRF India Rankings 2023 in medical college category.
KGMU enrolls students in numerous medical and paramedical programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral as well as post-doctoral levels. Some of the streams are MBBS, MD/MS, DM/MCh, BDS, MDS, bsc nursing paramedic, biotechnology. King George's Medical University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Completed 10+2 level of examination from a recognized board having Physics, Chemistry, Biology as the main subjects and having secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate for the entrance exam (40% for SC/ST candidates).
2. Must have competed the age of 17 years by 31st December of the year of admission (21 years of age for BDS, no upper age limit).
3. Passed NEET exam and obtained percentile pass mark as prescribed by the government.
4. Candidates holding in-service positions require a minimum of 2 years of experience supported by a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the appropriate authority.
5. NRI/Foreign candidates require registration with the Medical Council of India or any other council recognized as equivalent.
6. The OBC/SC/ST candidates must have the proper caste certificate, and the sub-caste should be in the state list. EWS certificate also needed for EWS quota which is implemented by the university to facilitate the admission process of the SC/ST students.

The training and placement department of King George’s Medical University had many leading healthcare and pharma companies participating in the placement session of 2024. Over 80 companies extended their employment opportunities to the passing out batch, while the highest package of INR Eighteen lacs per annum was provided by Novartis. The median pay scale that was offered by various employers was around INR 6000-8000 per annum. Prominent sectors among key recruiters were Novartis, Pfizer, Abbott, GSK Pharmaceuticals, Wockhardt, Panacea Biotech, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Cipla, Sun Pharma and Zydus Cadila. More than 90 percent of the 550 graduating students successfully secured campus placements in the industry in sectors such as medical coding, pharmaceutical sales and marketing, research, and analytics.
