Kumaun University - DSB Campus is a state university located in Nainital, Uttrakhand. It was founded in 1973 and it has been accredited by the UGC under section 2b and 12b. The university has been accredited in the latest NAAC accreditation round and has secured a ‘B’ grade with a CGPA of 2.15. As per NIRF Ranking 2023 announced recently, Kumaun University stands at 151stposition in India in the University category.
Under this, the university provides all its programmes as an undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level programmes under different disciplines. The admission process usually begins in May every year for both the categories of courses namely regular and distance learning. Kumaun University - DSB Campus Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For Bachelors programs, the candidate must have passed the 12th grade or its equivalent examination from any recognized board and must have minimum 50% of the total mark. Some of these may include specific subjects that may be needed depending on the program of study.
2. The candidates seeking admission in Masters programs must have obtained their Bachelors degree in the concerned specialization from any recognized university with minimum 50% marks. It is mentioned in some programs, the subjects taken in Bachelors must be specific.
3. The requirements for MPhil and PhD, candidates must have a Masters degree in a related field with at least 55% marks. Another method used in selection is through an entrance test as well as an interview.
4. For the professional diploma and certification programs 12th pass or Bachelors degree may be needed based on the course. Any form of working experience that will be relevant to the job should be taken as an advantage.
5. The other government norms that may benefit the reserved category candidates is the provision of 5% relaxation in the eligibility marks. The number of attempts is three and 5% relaxation is provided to the differently abled candidates.
6. The selection is made on the basis of the candidate’s mark in the qualifying examination, entrance examination if any and the personal interview as per the university admission criteria of the course applied for.
