It is a university in Shimoga, Karnataka, which provides all kinds of under graduate and post graduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, and Management streams. The PUC/10+2 or its equivalent examination is the mandatory examination to be cleared for admissions and the minimum marks needed differs from department to department. For BA courses in the discipline such as Economics, Sociology, Political science offered by the respective departments the eligibility requirements are PUC/10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. List of the courses offered by BSc in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology: The admission in BSc courses is done under PUC/ 10+2 with PCM/PCB/PCMB group having minimum 50% marks. BCom program under Commerce department admits students with PUC/10 + 2 any group with a minimum of 60% of marks. Papers like CET, COMEDK, KMAT, NPAT are also recognized for various courses merit based admission as well.
All Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree courses offered at this Kuvempu University have released the admission notice for 2024 academic year to commence shortly. Some of the important dates which are important for the students are – The application forms would be available from 3rd week of May 2023 and the last date for the submission of the forms would be 3rd week of June 2023. By July 2023, the management will carry out written tests and interviews. Release of selection list by end August 2023 while the classes commence early September 2023. Students can directly apply online through our University portal or can visit our campus. PUC marks, CET, COMEDK are the eligible tests accepted for UG admissions depending on the particular program and department. PG admissions base student’s merit on qualification exam marks like BA, BSc, BCom or equivalent and if the student had given any national/state level tests like KMAT, NPAT then those scores are also taken into account. It involves online application, uploading of documents, fee payment, allotment of halls, etc.
There are various faculties in Kuvempu University, Shimoga which provides different Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education and Law etc. As for the application process in Kuvempu University, students are able to fill the admission forms both online and offline.

- Graduate/Post Graduate degree: Job applicants must possess a four-year bachelor’s degree in the respective subject or any other related field to be considered for the position. Minimum aggregate marks required may also depend on the specific program that the student is applying for.
- Entrance Test: The University administers a test in order to admit students in M.Sc degrees. People who want to pursue their careers in this field need to sit for this test after applying. Performance in the test are taken into account in the selection process and the performance has its corresponding weightage.
