Malwanchal University (MU) is a state private university located in Bihar state in the northern part of India. The university was established in the year 2016 by the Government of Bihar and the university is NAAC accredited with grade “B”. According to NIRF 2023, Malwanchal University has been positioned under the NIRF ranking of 101-150 among all the universities present in India.
It has opened its doors for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses and also PhDs in fields such as management sciences, natural and social sciences, arts, education, law, engineering and technology. Some of the well recognized programs for which the university offers admission are B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, MBA, MCA, B.Sc, M.Sc, B.A, M.A, B.ED, LLB, LLM. The admission process is usually conducted in March-April of the respective year. The basic admission procedures include submission of an application form, appearing for MU entrance test and/or qualifying test as applicable for the programme. The odd semester examinations are conducted in the months of October/November and the even semester examinations are conduced in the months of April/May.

Malwanchal University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For B Tech programs, the candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in PCM and should have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Diploma holders can also apply through Lateral entry in 2nd year In case of lateral entry, students with diploma can join the particular programme at second year of the course.
2. For MTech programs, the candidate should have completion of BTech/BE or equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate marks in the relevant branch. Preferential treatment will be given to candidates who have qualified GATE.
3. In case of BCA program, the candidate should have cleared 10+2 or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in the science stream with Mathematics as one of the subject.
4. For MCA program, the candidate should be pass in any Bachelor’s Degree and must score minimum 50% marks. For admission to first-year degree course, the candidate should have passed the 10+2 level with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
5. For the BA/MA aspirants, the admission criteria are 10+2 or equivalent in any discipline with minimum 45-50% aggregate marks from a recognized board. Credit will only be granted where students have passed the specific subjects that are prerequisites for entry into the degree program.
6. Minimum eligibility criteria of the candidates for MPhil and PhD programs are: Qualification required Master’s degree / NET/SET Possessing 55% marks in related subject. Admission is carried out on the basis of the entrance examination, as well as the interview.

Malwanchal University has a functional placement cell through which students can be placed at their respective employers. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, L&T Infotech, Persistent Systems, Capgemini are some of the reputed organizations which takes part in campus placement every year. The maximum salary given by an organization in the year 2021 was Microsoft with the salary package of Rs. 22 lakh per annum. The salary offered varies from Rs.5-7 lakhs per annum as per various surveys conducted from time to time. The balance 30-40% student requirement is met through campus recruitments mostly through on campus interview processes. Through collaboration with industries and polishing skills courses, the placement rate has also risen in the past years.
