Manipur Technical University, also known as MTU, is a state university of public status located in Imphal in the Indian state of Manipur. MTU was established in the year 2016, the university is officially accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university NAAC accredited with B ++ Grade. According to NIRF 2023 ranking, Manipur Technical University stands among the 201-250 best colleges in India.
MTU provides Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate in Engineering, Technology, Management Health Sciences, pharmaceuticals and many others. There are B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, MCA and Ph.D. programmes. Some of the more sought after programs offered at MTU are Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Admission tests are held during May each year, and students are admitted based on the scores in the national level tests or the university level test MTU-Manipur Technical University Admission test (MTU-MAT) for the course selected.
