MIT University Shillong is a private university established in Shillong, Meghalaya and approved by the UACS in Meghalaya. This is UGC approved university and is recognized by the Government of Meghalaya. MIT University Shillong has secured ‘A’ grade from NAAC or the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. According to the NIRF Rankings 2023, it stands in the 101-150 Band among all the universities in India.
The university provides various undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. programs in relation to diverse fields. The major streams that are provided here are Engineering, Basic Sciences, Computer Applications, Management and Commerce, Social Work, Design, Law, and Humanities. Application for admission normally takes place in January each year and the examinations are held in April and May respectively. The candidates are then offered counselling sessions in June-July, and the admission process is concluded not later than August for the new academic session which begins in August 2024.
MIT University Shillong has a strong association in terms of placements and internships from companies like Infosys, TCS, Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and more. For the batch of 2022-23, more than 85 percent students got placed in companies with up to INR 18 lakhs per annum as the highest salary offered. Some of the prominent employers of the students are the technology firms, the financial service industries, the research organizations, and the government organizations.

MIT University Placements 2024
The MIT University Shillong being one of the reputed institutions for imparting quality education has always secured exemplary placements for its students. Companies that were among the top recruiters during the 2023 campus placement include Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant and others. The maximum pay package available was of 18,000 per month which was offered by American Express. To provide some perspective the average salary across branches was a healthy 6.2 LPA. A record 85% plus students got placed in various reputed firms which were their first preference. Hiring is happening at junior and mid-levels and across industries but in large numbers we are seeing it in IT/Software and core Engineering jobs.
