National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) is an autonomous body under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. It was set up in 1997 and is in Manesar, a city in the state of Haryana. The NAAC has graded NBRC ‘A’ and has awarded it a CGPA score of 3.02. For the 2023 NIRF Rankings, NBRC was ranked in the university list.
The NBRC Vision is to establish NBRC as an internationally recognized organization focused on neuroscience research and training. It offers several academic programs such as PhD in Neuroscience, MSc in Neurosciences; Integrated MS-PhD in Neurosciences; PG Diploma in Neurophysiology Technology. The admission process begins in December every year. While, group discussion and personal interviews are held in February-March for the shortlisted candidates. The exams this year are slated for 13-21 February, 2024. The apprentices should have completed their Life Sciences/Pharmacy/Medicine/Veterinary Science/Physiotherapy with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
NBRC has placed the students in partnership with reputed pharmaceutical companies, IT firms, hospitals through campus placements. Cadila Pharma, Torrent Pharma, Alembic Pharma, IPCA Labs, Indo-American Hybrid Seeds, Soham Life Sciences. More than 85% of the students have been placed with bagging average salary package of Rs 350000 to Rs 600000 per annum. The highest salary offered was Rs. 14 lakhs per annum was the highest salary offered in the preceding year. This also sees students get placement in NBRC which grants them chances to further their studies in globally accredited universities. The Placement Cell in the college offers training for aptitude test, group discussions, interviews for the students in the recruitment process.

NBRC provides PhD in different specializations such as biosciences, biophysics, biochemistry, bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, neuroscience and much more.
The PhD program is a full time course of 5-6 years duration with emphasis on research. Candidate should have master degree in science with minimum 55% marks for the post of students. By, writing test and interview process are used in the selection process. They include lab rotations, course work, a comprehensive exam, research proposal development, thesis work and its defense. DST norms are followed for the payment of stipends to the PhD scholars.
