National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Educational Qualification: For freshers, they should have passed MBBS degree from a recognized university with at least 55% marks. Apart from the above eligibility criteria, for the super-specialty courses, the candidates must have passed the MD/MS examination in the concerned subject.
2. Entrance Test: Students have to sit for national level examinations such as NEET or for a direct admit examination that NIMHANS conducts. Performance in these tests is admissible for shortlisting of candidates.
3. Interview Round: Candidates that make it to the list sit for an interview with a panel of interviewers from NIMHANS. The interview looks at the candidate’s interests, knowledge in the subject, their communication skills, etc.
4. Reservation Policy: As per eligibility in the SC/ST/OBC and handicapped categories, the Institute adheres to the reservation policy of the central government.
