NITP is a premier institution situated at Patna in Bihar and is technically known as the National Institute of Technology Patna. NITP is officially accredited and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and is under the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. NIT Patna was established in the year 1886 and offers B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D., M.Sc., MBA, MCA etc in different fields of engineering, science and management. The preferred undergraduate programs are B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical & Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering and Chemical Engineering among others. These programs are offered at Undergraduate level and the admission is offered to those students who clear the JEE Main entrance test.

NIT Patna Placements 2024
The NIT Patna was able to achieve 80% placement in the placement season with reputed companies offering the students jobs. Some of the large employers that hired freshers were Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, Infosys, L&T Infotech and Accenture etc. The maximum salary offered for a fresher was 27.5 LPA through a well established financial service firm. Out of the total offers, the average salary offer was 8,200 per annum. It being the sum total of its sessions, it was indeed a very good placement year for students of NIT Patna with higher recruitment percentages in IT, core engineering and finance sectors along with good hike in the analytical sectors.
