The National Institute of Technology Delhi was founded in the year 2010 and it has various departments covering all fields of engineering, science, and humanities streams. Many departments at NIT Delhi, including computer science engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering offer BTech on the basis of National level examination such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and GATE. The requirements for entry are different in each department, but the basic one presupposes passing the Class 12 exams with at least 60-70% average and including Physics, Chemistry and Maths in the list of subjects. The department that offers the MA/MSc degrees in economics, English, psychology, national level tests admissions such as UGC NET, CSIR NET, GATE and NIT Delhi entrance test. NIT Delhi currently has a wide variety of programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate levels such as engineering, sciences, humanities & social sciences, design and management courses.

National Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the participating institutes of NITs and offers programs such as undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies in engineering and technology fields. Admission to NIT Delhi is done through online mode and offline mode depending on the course applied by the student.
The JEE Main exam is required for admission to the BTech programme and after the exam, the JoSAA counselling site will be available from June. After the registration process is complete, candidates can lock their preferences regarding the NITs and the branches. This counselling is done based on the obtained rank in JEE Main, the choices filled by the candidate, and the seat available. The students who secure allotment at NIT Delhi can access the link for provisional seat allotment letter and visit the institute along with their documents and fees.

Undergraduate (UG) Programs are offered at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Delhi in New Delhi across numerous departments. The Computer Science and Engineering department provides B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Engineering To be eligible for the course one must have passed their Class 12th and should have passed in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths with minimum 75% aggregate marks in these subjects. The following standard entrance exams are recognised JEE Main. Department of Electrical Engineering offers B.Tech in Electrical Engineering for the students, which admit students on the basis of merit obtained in JEE Main. Other UG courses offered across departments such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering also have similar eligibility and accepted examinations.
Some of the B.Tech programs handled at the institute include Specialization Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering among others.
