NIT Mizoram is situated in Aizawl and provides various engineering and science courses like Civil, Computer Science and Engineering Electronics and telecommunication, Electrical and Mechanical engineering. The prerequisite for admissions in BTech degree is 75% marks (for SC/ST 65%) in 12th boards in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and passing in the JEE Mains examination. Many MSc courses like Chemistry, Mathematics & Computing, Physics and Environmental Science provide the criteria of a pass in the Bachelor’s degree in related subject with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) for their admission.
The different BTech, MTech, MSc and PhD courses/ stream available in NIT Mizoram in various branches of engineering and science are Civil, Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial and Production, Design, Physics, Chemistry Material Science, Applied Mathematics Computer Science and Humanities. For admission to BTech there are CCMT & CCMN, for MTech and MSc programs admission is done through official website while for MTech admission is through GATE score.
Process for filling up of Admission Form online Read the instructions carefully before filling up the form:
1. The school leaving certificate, and identity proof such as Aadhaar card, voter ID card, driving license, or passport stating date of birth along with the address proof.
2. Originally issued class tenth certificate and Mark sheet issued by the respective state or national education board having the date of birth.
3. The document required is the Class 12th or equivalent certificate and mark sheet where the candidate has to mention the subjects that have been studied and the marks obtained by the candidate.
4. Original computer generated JEE Main score card issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in case student is seeking admission in B.Tech. The entrance test score-cards of other course offered by this university.
5. Documents required are Transfer certificate or School / College leaving certificate from the institution last attended.
6. Caste and /or community certificate from the prescribed authority for candidates seeking admission under the respective category.
1. For UG, JoSAA admission after JEE Mains exam through online process. With regards to shortlisting, it will be done according to the JEE Mains rank and choices filled.
2. For PG, applications are released in May and for GATE exam. An initial selection made on GATE scores, preferences, and interview performance.
3. Scan and upload documents, pay the fees to confirm the admission after giving the seat in UG/PG program.
4. Complete all necessary formalities for document verification and enrollment of the admitted candidates on or before the last date as per the admission schedule of NIT Mizoram.
5. New students follow the orientation program and course enrollment upon documentation.
6. Meet class attendance and follow school calendar. Academic performance: To ensure that the minimum credit hours and CGPA as required to the program in question are acquired.
1. Eligibility criteria - For admission in the B.Tech course, candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
2. Sit for JEE Main test – Depending on the obtained JEE Main score, students are then selected for counselling and admission.
3. CCMT entrance - Changchun Conservatory of Music and Technology entrance – Shortlisted candidates must register online when registrations are open for the CCMT counselling.
4. Choice filling – Aspirants have to choose the NITs and branches they prefer in the most preferred sequence.
5. Seat section – Depending on JEE Main rank, category, choices filled, the candidates are allotted the seats in several counseling sessions.
6. Round/College verifications - After a round of counseling, the candidate is supposed to report to the NIT where the seat is allotted, and finalize the process.
7. Reporting and confirmation – For reporting, the documents are verified and the candidate has to submit an admission fee for the confirmation of the allotted seat.

1. Verify whether the candidate is fulfilling basic requirements such as having GATE/NET score, obtaining minimum percentage in Master’s degree.
2. Identify a concerned faculty member to liaise with and who will agree to submit the project proposal, NOC as well as other documents.
3. The application form must be filled out while the notification is out and the application fee must also be tendered.
4. Sit for an examination or interview organized by the school, college or university of your choice.
5. There are admission formalities to be completed, including payment of fees and submission of documents when your school is selected.
6. They are to seek approval on the research proposal and apply for the final registration to commence the program within 2 years of admission.
