NLUO Cuttack Admission 2024

The National Law University Odisha (NLUO) in Cuttack provides many undergraduate and postgraduate programs in law accepting applications in several departments. The primary undergraduate course is a five-year integrated course known as the BA-LLB, which mandates that candidates have successfully completed 12th grade with an aggregate mark of at least 45%. The exams accepted for admission as follows: CLAT, LSAT India, NLUO Law Entrance Test. Other departments are LL.M, MBA LLM, PhD PG diploma courses which offered to the candidates who have completed their bachelor’s degree in law with minimum 50 % in their previous exams. CLAT PG, NLUO entrance test etc are some of the accepted admission tests for the course. 

The university has different law programs and disciplines for undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral degrees. It has programmes such as the BA LLB and LL.M programs are provided in a number of specializations including; Business Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and International law among others. Some of the most important examination dates to note for 2024 academic year include – CLAT exam date is 11th of May 2024, NLUO entrance test for 2024 is on the 4th of the same month. The steps involved in the admission process include registration and application online, appearing for the respective entrance test conducted by NLUO, group discussion, and personal interview session. By the end of the process, performance throughout all phases is considered. Executive summary is made by the university for providing the list of selected candidates. Seat allotment is done based on the payment of fees made by the candidate concerned after offer of admission.

The NLU Odisha offers admissions to the 5-year integrated course of BA LLB every year and the candidates seeking admission to the course can submit their application online. The candidates can register for NLUO Cuttack admission online as well as offline.

For online, they must visit the official website of NLUO at nlucuttick.ac.in For further details, the candidates will click on the link: NLUO Cuttack Recruitment 2021. For instance, on the homepage, there is a tab named ‘Admissions’ – on clicking on this, there is a sub option ‘Online Application’. In order to become members of the site, candidates are asked to register; this involves entering basic demographic data and a password. But for registration is complete the whole process of application form, online payment for application fees etc, candidates are given userid and passwords for their login. 

In its offline mode, candidates will have to download the application form which would be available on their website. The application forms have to be completed and supported with the necessary documentations and the application fee must also be posted to the university using a speed post or registered post. Entries are normally received in may each year while the aptitude test is taken in June. Admission is based on merit as determined by results of the Common Law Admission Test with seats available in year one.

NLUO Cuttack L.L.M Admission 2024

- Application Process: Typically, the admission to the LLM program begins in the academic year of March/April. These are done through online means by either submitting an application through the university’s website or through an email.

- Eligibility: For the purpose, the candidates must hold a 5 years integrated BA LLB/BBA LLB or 3 years LLB degree with atleast 55% marks in aggregate (50% for the SC/ST candidates). 

- Entrance Test: Unlike the undergraduate level, the NLUO has its own entrance exam, known as the NLUO CET for LLM programme. The exam is always held in June.

- Seat Availability: The total number of places available for the LLM program is not indicated. But as per their last year’s availability, there were nearly sixty seats in various specializations offered by the institute.

- Admission Criteria: The CET score is taken into consideration for admissions and the students are then put through a group discussion round and a personal interview session. Experience is also taken into account as part of work experience. 

- Course Fees: The total course fees for the one-year LLM program was approximately 1.5 lakhs in the last year. Tuition and other charges may vary for the current year of study if it is different from the year shown on the fee structure.

- Results: The list of candidates selected for the particular process is usually released by July. Classes commence from August.

NLUO Cuttack Ph.D. (Law) Admission 2024

- This university is National Law University Odisha (NLUO) and they offer PhD in Law. The admissions are normally done and are either posted at some time in the first half of the year on their website or through an advertisement.

- The eligibility criteria normally comprises possessing the Master of Laws degree which in full is referred to as LLM together with the minimum pass mark. There may also be conditions regarding passed exams, such as the school’s own entrance exam, and/or an interview.

- Normally, the application is done through online or paper application accompanied by other documents or forms. This ranges from letters of certification, certificate of admission, research proposal, recommendation letters etc.

NLUO Cuttack Ph.D. (Law) Selection Criteria

- Prospective candidates must possess a Master of Laws (LLM) degree and the candidate must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in the degree.


- The selection is carried out by the entrance test laid down by the university for the students. The test consists of two papers and the first one is research methodology while the second paper is the major area of study.


- Those students, who score 50% or above in the tests they take, they are invited for an interview. 


- The final cut-off incorporates the entrance test score, the score from the interview, the research interest of the candidate based on his published or presentation papers, and any extra academic achievements/expo.


- There is separate concessions for SC, ST and for PWD candidates as per government norms respectively.


- The selected candidates must produce a research proposal within the stipulated period and be advised by a faculty advisor hired by the university.


- Thus, the duration of the Ph.D. program can be from three years to six years for completion. Important course work, preparation of papers, and final submission of the thesis is also expected from the candidates within this period.
