The National Museum Institute of History of Art Conservation and Museology (NMI) located in New Delhi is an autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India that offers different post diploma and post graduate diploma courses in the field of art history, conservation and Museology. The Conservation department provides a 3-year Diploma course in Conservation with the subjects covering conservation of papers, paintings, wood, textiles, etc. having basic eligibility of 10+2 science. The Art History department provides a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Art and Culture and the applicants should have a graduate in arts/science streams. The Museology department provides a two-year course in Post Graduate Diploma in Museology & Archaeology for graduates belonging to any discipline to learn about management of museums and archaeology. Acceptable standardized tests include UGC NET, GATE and CSIR UGC NET JRF.

The National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology (NMI), New Delhi has many diploma and post graduate diploma courses in conservation, museology and art history. As for the admission to NMI, the students can apply in both online and offline mode.
The application form for the admission to NMI is also uploaded to its official website www.nmi.gov.in during the admission notification period. To apply online, candidates have to go to the website of the company, complete an application form and attach the documents. The application fee can be remitted online through credit/debit card or net banking.
Documents Required for Admission in NMIHACAM New Delhi for Different Courses:
The National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology or NMI is located in New Delhi and offers different undergraduate courses in history, art, conservation and museology. The Bachelor of Arts (History of Art) department is concerned with Indian Far Eastern and Western art and the eligibility is 10+2 pass in any stream. Employees are recruited through writing ability test and interview among the students. Conservation Bachelor of Science (Conservation) program of teaching involves conservation of different materials such as paper, wood, textiles etc. 10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology is sufficient for taking admission in this course. Admission is done after the students take an aptitude test, and an interview, respectively. The Bachelor of Museology program covers museology, conservation and arts management and the minimum requirement is 10+2. NMI along with other exams allows students to appear for national level exams such as JEE Main, NEET, CLAT etc.
The different UG courses offered at NMI are – Bachelor of Arts in History of Art, Bachelor of Science in Conservation, Bachelor of Arts in Museology and Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology. Some of the streams are history, science, arts, and archaeology.

The Archaeology department provides the PhD in Archaeology in which the candidates must have the Postgraduate degree in Ancient Indian History, Culture or Archaeology. UGC NET, JRF and SLET examination are only acceptable. The Course offered by the Art History department is PhD in Art History Candidates should possess The post graduate degree in History of Art The accepted test will be UGC NET and JRF. Conservation department offers a PhD in Conservation where candidates are expected to possess a Postgraduate degree in Conservation or Chemistry. The accepted examinations are GATE as well as UGC NET. The Museology department provides the PhD in Museology, where the candidate must possess a Postgraduate degree in Museology or related fields. UGC NET, JRF and SLET are recognized qualifying tests for the purpose.
NMI provides both full time and part time PhD programs which can take 3 to 5 years for completion in specialized fields such as Archaeology, Art History, Conservation, Museology etc.
