Nava Nalanda Mahavihara is another institution situated in Nalanda, Bihar which comprises of Postgraduate study and research in Buddhism and Pali. It offers M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. across the various departments such as Buddhist Studies, Pali and Prakrit, Sanskrit, Hindi, English Philosophy and many others. Some of the important parameters that form the basis of eligibility include educational qualifications of the previous academic year such as, possessing a Bachelors degree in the relevant subject with the minimum percentage of marks as prescribed. Acceptable documents include those of competitive exams such as NET/SET or entrance examination like NNMH-CEE of the institute.

1. Identity proof like Aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID card, passport etc to check identity and age of the candidate.
2. Pass certificate in 10th standard examinations of any recognized education board with your date of birth and the subjects passed.
3. Original mark sheet of Class 12th passed from a recognized education Board which should mention the subjects passed and marks scored by the candidate.
4. Proof of migration from the education board that one qualified class 12th.
5. Affidavit/ Character certificate from the previous school/college attesting that the candidate has good moral character.
6. Caste certificate in case applying under the reserved categories like SC/ST/OBC.
7. Any other special category certificates such as physical handicap certificate in case the candidate possesses.

3. For a written test and an interview, the shortlisted candidates are notified to appear for a written test and an interview. They try to test the extent of research readiness and proficiency in the area of specialization.
4. The candidate’s performance during the written test and the interview results are used to prepare the final merit list.
5. The candidates are then informed about the selections and offered an admission on payment of fees.
