Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM) is one of the most famous deemed university situated in Bihar, at Nalanda. This university has NAAC accreditation of Grade A and ranked 60th in the category of Universities as per NIRF Rankings 2023. NNM is an ambitious plan to recreate the historical knowledge centre at Nalanda. Though its prime functions are conducting research and education in different branches of knowledge, it focuses on Buddhism and Pali literature in particular.

1. Any candidate who has cleared their 10+2 exams in Science/Arts/Commerce streams from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% in aggregate can apply for UG courses like BA/BSc/BCom.
2. As for the Indian citizens, they are eligible to apply for the master’s degree such as MA/MSc provided they have passed the bachelor’s degree with the minimum of 50% marks in the respective subjects.
3. Candidates must have passed master’s degree with not less than 55% marks from any recognized university for MPhil program and clear the entrance test and interview as well.
4. Direct admission of the candidates who had passed the qualifying examination, research proposal, entrance test and interview.
5. For certificate courses, the minimum requirement is 10+2 qualification along with the right aptitude towards the relevant skills.
6. As per government norms for reserved categories, certain concessions and exemptions in eligibility criteria are allowed on the basis of written letters of reference.
Nava Nalanda Mahavihara have placed well in various fields. Some of the top companies that have hired candidates from NNM are the Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro Limited, Infosys, and Cognizant. The highest of salary packages offered during 2023 placement session was Rs. 18 lakh per annum offered by an American company and the average salary offered was between Rs.5 lakh and Rs. 7 lakh per annum. Undergraduate batch of the institute got placement percentage above 85% for its students. Some of the top recruiters among them were TCS which has been providing the maximum number of placements followed by Infosys. The initial portfolios available were software engineering, data science, business analytics, and related fields.
