Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) is a relatively new agricultural university located in Navsari, situated in the state of Gujarat in India. NAU was granted in the year 2004 and it has received ‘A’ grade from the NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). Recently, NIRF rankings 2023 have declared where NAU was ranked at 36th position among the agricultural universities in India.
NAU is emerged as one of the largest universities in India providing courses in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food processing, renewable energy. It has four constituent colleges named as College of Agriculture, College of Horticulture & Forestry, College of Food Processing Technology & Bio-Energy, and College of Agricultural Information Technology. For entry into the bachelor degree programs, a pass in the qualifying examination is required and the result obtained determines the extent of the candidature. For masters and PhDs, the universities grant direct admissions and the criteria include entrance tests done at university/state/national level.

1. It means candidate should have passed 12th standard science group with subjects like physics chemistry biology/maths and should have scored 50% marks for general whereas 45% for reserved category.
2. Candidate should have passed 12th standard PCB/PCM/PCMB based on the program for BSc programs as desired.
3. For the BTech programs, candidate must have passed 12th standard with PCM stream subjects and minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved) in each of the subjects.
4. The candidates for the MSc/PhD programmes must possess a valid bachelor’s/master’s degree in agriculture or science stream with minimum 50% marks.
5. In the case of diploma programs, the eligibility criteria is relaxed by 5% for students from rural background.
6. There are norms prescribed by the government regarding reservation of seats where there is possibility of relaxation in cut-off percentage for SC/ST/OBC/EWS and physically challenged candidates.
This university has a placement cell for campus placement for students every year recruited across various colleges and universities. The companies that have recruited the students are ITC, Reliance, Adani Wilmar, Parle Agro, Varun Beverages, Cargill, Ananda. The highest salary that was offered in the year 2023 was Rs 18 lakhs per annum by Adani Wilmar. The average salary packages offered for placements vary from Rs 4-6 lakhs per annum. Campus placements ensure a good percentage of students get placed with about 60-70% of the total eligible students getting placements. Major profiles offered in recruitments are in research & development, agriculture, food production & processing, dairy operations.
