North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) is an education and technical university in Arunachal Pradesh, India. Founded in 2014, NEFTU got UGC approval and is recognized by the Government of India. The university has been recognized with grade ‘A’ by NAAC and CGPA of 3.11 has also been achieved. In the rankings of NIRF in the year 2023 NEFTU is at 45 among the engineering colleges in India.
The NEFTU presently runs diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields of study. In the university there is Faculty of Engineering that provides B.Tech courses of Computer Science & Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering & Mechanical Engineering. Other programs which are offered include BBA, BCA, B.Sc. Bachelor’s and Master’s courses in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics, MBA, MCA, M.Tech in different disciplines. It is a tradition that exams are held from October to December of the same year. The admission process commences in May, 2024 for the next academic year. Application process is online, candidates may apply online by submitting their application through the available form or they may get the form and apply offline. These include the entrance examination scores achieved by a candidate in a national or state level entrance test such as JEE Main, NEET or the performance in the last examination sat for.
The university attained impressive campus placements through the years according to the NEFTU. Some of the main Recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, ACCENTURE, L&T, IBM, Tech Mahindra and many public and private sectors banks come to NEFTU for the purpose of placements. In the academic year 2021-2022, over 80 percent students got placed in reputed organizations with average registered salary of 5 lakhs per annum, while the registered highest salary is 15 lakhs per annum. The placement & training cell enables the students to be placed in core companies and make them industry ready through job training programs.

North East Frontier Technical University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the BTech programmes are that the candidate should have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination in PCM with an aggregate of 60%. Certain exemptions for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per norms of the government as follows.
2. For MTech, it is mandatory that the candidates should have B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent degree in relevant branch with minimum 60% marks. Rest period for SC/ST/OBC as per rule regulation. As far as the qualification is concerned, it is preferred that the candidate should have qualified GATE exam.
3. For MCA program the candidate should have a bachelors degree with math/ computer science/Statistics/ Commerce/ Economics 60 % marks. Mathematics is mandatory for 10 + 2 examination. Relaxations for reserved categories.
4. In order to join MBA, one must possess a bachelor’s degree of any stream with not less than 60% marks. Relaxations for reserved categories. For the remaining two slots of Business Administration, performance in the entrance examination like CAT/MAT/XAT will be taken into consideration.
5. For PhD programs the candidate must have to pass post graduation in relevant field according to their area of specialization. It is crucial that performance in the UPESRAT exam and the Interview be considered.
6. For diploma and certificate courses, minimum educational qualification is 10+2 pass or ITI certification. As with any other job, age is considered here but with limitations depending on the category of the person in regard to the act on reservation of vacancies for scheduled castes and tribes. Skill assessment tests conducted.
