Potti Sreeramulu Telugu university or PSTU is a public university established in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The PSTU was set up in 1985 under an Act passed in the Andhra Pradesh state legislature to serve the cause of higher learning and research in Telugu language, literature, and culture. PSTU is affiliated with the University Grants Commission Commission and has a NAAC accreditation of B++ status. According to the NIRF ranking system of India in 2023, PSTU was standing at the 76th position among Universities.
PSTU is a multi-disciplinary University that provides degree programs in Undergraduate, Postgraduate, MPhil and PhD in Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities, Music, Education, Journalism & Library Science programs. Some of the well known programs include master of arts in Telugu, master of philosophy in Telugu Literature and Linguistics and the doctor of philosophy in Telugu Studies. The exams are set and administered according to the academic calendar with the examinations being held in May and November. The admission exercise is in May for the July session. The admission is online and through a single window system for all faculties. There could be entrance exam where prospective students have to write in order to get into some programs.
Concerning the placements, it was equally good since 50% of the students from the BA, BEd programs got placed in reputed schools. Some of the leading recruitment agencies are Decathlon Campus, Genpact, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix, Hinduja Global Solutions etc. The top salary offered was Rs. 5, 00,000 per annum for the B.Tech Computer Science candidates. Scholars and students have claimed that the average salary offered is between Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 3 lakhs per annum for postgraduate and undergraduate programs. Some of the alumni are placed in the various organizations in academics, media, literature, journalism, and administration at a higher level in India and other countries.

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in the specific subject area of specialization (for example a BA in Telugu for MA Telugu) from a accredited university and must have obtained the minimum pass percentage as prescribed for that program.
2. For PhD, the candidate has to possess a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and NET/SET clearance.
3. SC/ST/OBC candidates will be given relaxation in percentage in their bachelors master’s degree as per University norms.
4. Foreign candidates should have qualifications equivalent to the standards set by the AIU with sufficient English language proficiencies.
5. As for other requirements, for any specific program as mentioned, performance in an entrance test, an interview, work experience etc. may be needed.

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University has a particular placement cell which has placement drives annually for the students of the university. A number of leading corporates like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, and TECMACHINE, among others, are frequent recruiters at this campus. In the 2021-22 placements, the maximum salary offered was Rs 8 lakhs per annum by Infosys, while the median salary for all the students was around Rs 4.5 lakhs per annum. Around 60-70% of the students are placed in various organizations through campus recruiting conducted in the last year. Recruiting companies who recruited maximum numbers of students were TCS followed by ICICI Bank which offered highest average package of Rs. 5 lakh per annum. Infosys provided the highest salary package but offered selection to a few candidates.
