Punjab Engineering College University of Technology (PEC) Chandigarh was established in 1921, and it is one of the oldest and prominent engineering colleges in India. PEC established in 1921 was imparted autonomous status by UGC and declared as a deemed University. PEC is NAAC accredited with an aggregate of 3.71 out of 4 and it has scored 20th rank in overall Engineering Institutions in NIRF. PEC is a multidisciplinary institute spread over 300 acres of land across the city of Chandigarh with a student base of more than 4500 students and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering, Science, Management and humanities.
PEC Chandigarh consists of 10 departments and 4 schools of engineering that offer B.tech, M.tech, MBA and Ph.D courses. A few of the popular B.Tech specializations include Computer Science Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Mid semester examinations are held in December every year and final examination are held in the month of May. The candidates seeking admission to B.Tech programs in this institute have to first appear in JEE mains and then through counseling. For M.Tech programs, the candidates have to appear in GATE examination. It starts in April and goes up to August for those who could not get admission yet. Applications can be submitted online together with documentation supporting the applicant’s eligibility criteria.
The placement cell of PEC Chandigarh is very good and the college got more than 500 companies for campus recruitment annually. Some of the major recruiters are Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Samsung, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp, Maruti Suzukui, L&T Construction, DRDO and ISRO with some of the highest salary packages going as high as 40 Lacs per annum.

1. The candidate must have successfully passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 60 % of marks (55% for SC/ST) in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
2. The candidate should have an age less than 21 years on September 30. But there is an age relaxation; for SC/ST/PwD candidates, it will be of 5 years.
3. The applicant must have participated in and cleared JEE Main exam and attained the minimum qualifying marks in that exam so as to be eligible for the counselling session. The cut-off keeps changing and the students get different college each time they attend the exam.
4. Alumni entry through LEET will require a diploma in engineering from PB state with a minimum of 60% marks score (55% for SC/ ST). There should be 24 years as the cut off age.
5. In the 2nd year, B.E/B.Tech aspirants can directly enrol through diploma holders from a recognized institute; both candidates with an aggregate of 60% and subsequently the reserved categories of SC/ST/BC/PwD is provided with a 5% concession.
6. MBA admissions require the candidate to have a degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks for general categories (45% for SC, ST and BC). The other thing required (CAT/MAT) is a valid score along with the graduation.

1. Either taking part in the inline application or choosing the offline one, submit your application for the university's entrance test. This covers both JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, and others like central or the university's entrance test.
2. If eligible, pay counselling fees and proceed with the registration process. Submit the required documents and pick the options for branches as well as reallocation.
3. Take part in the following counselling sessions that are shown on the allotted date and time. Seat will be allocated according to rank, category and preferences of the applicants.
4. Completion of the seat allotment is subject to admission application formalities where applicants are required to meet the deadline to pay the admission fee.
5. Please provide all the required documents in original to provide verification. Take with you admission slip and ID card.
6. Participate in orientation occasions and recruitment of the academic year as per university schedule provided by the university.
