RUHS is a state university in the Rajasthan state of India which was established in the year 2005 and it is located in Jaipur city and this university provides education and research facilities in health sciences. It was established in 2005 through an act of Rajasthan state legislature, RUHS is a UGC recognized University and is accredited by NAAC with Grade A. As per NIRF rankings of 2023, RUHS was placed at 76th position in the list of top medical Universities in India. It has on its anvil to offer quality health science education through its affiliated colleges and institutes in Rajasthan. As the largest university-system in RUHS currently boasts of over 200 affiliated colleges that provide courses that include medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy among others.
Presently, RUHS confers diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in faculties of medical sciences, dental sciences, nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, among others. Some of the major courses which are available are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BNYS, BPT, B.Pharm, and M.Pharm to name a few. The admission process usually gets underway from the month of May every year with the public notice of the forms. Some of the entrance exams conducted in this period include RUHSMET for admission to medical courses and are conducted in June-July. The new session in the schools starts from September of the calendar year. Timetables of exams are issued earlier in the year, relevant to final semester examinations that are usually in November-December. After the exams get over in December, the results are declared in the beginning of January, and placements commence immediately after that.

Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For MBBS – Candidate must have passed 12th standard examination from any recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology as the main subjects and obtained not less than 50% of the total marks for the general category students and 40% for the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC category. Candidate must have attained a minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December in the year of admission.
2. For BDS – Candidate must have cleared 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the main subjects with pass marks for general category students and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category students. Minimum age requirement is 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission is the minimum age requirement.
3. For BAMS - Candidate must have completed 12th standard with PCB group and minimum 50% marks for open category and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category. Requirement of having completed seventeen (17) years of age or more on the 31st of December of the year of admission.
4. For BHMS – Candidates who have passed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects with minimum 50% for general candidates & 40% for reserved candidates will be considered. Satisfy all age requirements and must be at least 17 years old on or before the 31st of December of the year of admission.
5. For BPT – Passed 12th standard /equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Mathematics subjects and passed with minimum 50% marks for Open category and 40 % for SC/ST/OBC category. Minimum age restriction is 17 years on 31st December of year of entry to university.
