Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is one of the premier national law university, which has been set up under the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006. It is recognized by the Bar Council of India and it also has the approval of the University Grants Commission. This institution has been ranked and accredited by NAAC and it was recently awarded an ‘A’ grade accreditation in the year 2022. In the latest NIRF Rankings 2023, RGNUL has secured its position in the band of 7th in the list of law institutions in India.
RGNUL provides the choice of two five-year integrated programmes which are BA LLB (Hons.), LLM and PhD in law with a variety of specializations such as Constitution Law, Corporate Law, Criminal Law and laws related to Intellectual Property Rights and many more. The procedure to get into the five-year integrated programme of BA LLB for the academic term of 2024-25 is through CLAT exam and counselling. The above university conducts a rigorous procedure in admitting deserving candidates into their institutions.

1. Candidates who have passed 10+2 with at least 45% aggregate marks, for the general category, are eligible for applying for BA LLB program.
2. As for the LLM program, one need LLB degree and for general category, the minimum passing percentage requirement is 50%.
3. For PhD program requirement, they must have LLM degree with minimum 55% for the generality category candidates.
4. For diploma programmes one requires a pass certificate from 10+2 with not less than 40% marks for general category.
5. The reduction of percentage for reserved category students as per rules and regulation of the government.
6. The required proofs of English language competency for the admission of foreign students.

Some of the leading recruiters of this college are the litigation firms such as Luthra & Luthra Law Offices and Trilegal, which recruited 15% of the 2024 batch of the college and offered an average salary package ranging between INR 14-16 lakhs per annum. Multinational conglomerates like ICICI bank, Tata steel and Deloitte also conduct placements and had placements for almost 20% of the student population. In the placement of RGNUL the highest salary package which was offered during 2023 was 18 lakhs per annum and the average salary was 10 lakhs per annum.
