It is a state public university, situated at Ranchi, in the state of Jharkhand, India. It was established in the year 1960, and it is affiliated by the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) and recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Ranchi University has also been recognized and accredited with the B grade NAAC in the year 2023. The Times Higher Education (THE) ranked it 151 among all universities in India in the NIRF Rankings in the year 2023.
It provides the education in degree level programs for the students in different field of study in sciences arts, commerce, law, management, education and many more. Some of the major faculties are – Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Computer Applications, Management, etc and some of the major courses are BA, BSc, BCom, BEd, LLB, MCA, MSc, MA, MBA, MCom and PhD. The admission process begins in May every year, and the students can make their application online or by sending the application forms through post. The record of the highest salary package offered so far has been up to 15 LPA while the average salary package has been ranging around 3-4 LPA.
