The Regional Institute of Management and Technology (RIMT) started its operation in the year 1998 at Mandi Gobindgarh, District: Rupnagar, Punjab. AICTE approved institution affiliated to Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana – Ambala and recognized by the Govt. of Punjab. RIMT has been accredited with an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in 2022 for excellence in the field of education. As per the NIRF Ranking 2023 for colleges in India RIMT stands 151st. 

RIMT is a multi disciplined co-educational institution which runs undergraduate and post graduate courses in the fields of engineering & computer application, management & commerce, mass communication & journalism, pharmacy & agriculture, law etc. Among the most sought after programs they include the following; Business Technology (BTech) Master of Business Administration (MBA) Business Administration (BBA) Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) Bachelor of Arts (BA) Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) etc. For the examinations, the institute follows a semester system of examinations. In regards to exams and admissions, date differs for different programs offered by the university, But for the admission process of the 2024 batch, it is expected that the process would begin in April-May 2023. Any candidate who is interested in joining RIMT can apply either online or offline by remitting the prescribed amount along with an application form where they sit for the entrance test and then counselling. 

RIMT has one of the best placement cells that help the students in getting placed in some of the reputed companies and thus the institute does have some of the best placement records in the years that are consecutive. RIMT has set a record of recruiting over 500 companies including the top names like Amazon, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Accenture etc through campus placement programs for eligible candidates revealed that more than 80% of students got placed in 2022 while the highest package was 15.5 LPA and average package of 4.5 LPA was offered to most of the The industries recruiting heavily include core engineering service, information technology and software, consulting and financial services, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.

Regional Institute of Management and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. Before being considered for admission to BBA and BCA programs, candidates must possess 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board obtaining at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST category).  

2. The candidates seeking admission in MBA and MCA courses should have passed their Bachelor’s degree in any stream from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission with not less than 50%marks (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC category). Experience will be an added advantage especially if acquired through work experience.

3. The entry requirement for diploma course is that the applicant must have passed 10th standard from a recognized board. Lateral entry to 2nd year diploma requires the candidate to have passed the class 12th examination in the appropriate stream.  

4. It is open to everyone and there is no specified age that one must be to apply for the product. Students who have appeared in the qualifying examinations can apply in the final year and it will be assumed that they are eligible, though the actual confirmation of eligibility will be carried out at the time of admission.

5. A written test administered by the institute to all candidates accompanied by group discussion and personal interview exercise will be applied to all programs. 

6. For SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and specially-abled candidates, there will be an application to be filled in as per government norms. Incentives may be accorded based on their performances in sports or other extra curricular activities.
