Sangai International University SIU is a private university in Imphal, Manipur, India. Founded in 2016 and has been UGC and GoM recognized university and is functioning as an autonomous university. In fact, Sangai International University has been accredited with Grade A by NAAC which implies that the education imparted here is of superior quality. As per the NIRF Ranking released in 2023, said university is placed at the 45th position in the list of universities in India.
The university is spread across various fields of study including engineering and applied sciences, management, humanities and social sciences, law, design, library science, journalism and communication, education and many more. Sangai International University follow the semester system and the exams are conducted in the month of October, December, April & June respectively. The admission process begins in January year and students get admission through national level tests like the JEE Main, CAT, CLAT, NATA and Sangenta conducted by the university for the programmes like BA, BSc, BLib, BJMC.
Sangai International University has good placement record where companies such as Infosys, TCS, Wipro, IBM, Deloitte, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank etc. visit and recruit students directly from the campus. Apart from the above achievements, qualified students from Sangai International University have been placed in more than 500 premier organizations through campus recruitment in the past few years. 1. The admission requirements for undergraduate programs include a pass in 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with 50% or above marks. Thus, programs can have additional requirements. 2. For postgraduate courses, the students have to meet the eligibility criterion of having a bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 50% marks recognized by a university. Some programs require tests to be taken in order to be admitted into the program. 3. For Ph.D. and doctoral programs admissions, the candidate must have masters degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks. It also requires qualifying national/state level eligibility tests for its respective eligibility tests. 4. For diploma and certification courses candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam or any equivalent qualification are accepted. As for the other criteria, some programs may require prior work experience to be relevant to the program offered. 5. It would be appropriate to state that international students must be equally qualified like their Indian counterparts. It is imperative that students take English language proficiency tests. 6. In accordance with the state government rules and regulations, the students belonging to the reserved category are offered percentage relaxations in the cutoff marks. Extra credit can be added where highly different circumstances or previous accomplishments can exist. The university comprises of various faculties, providing undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in engineering, management, science, humanities, etc. BTech specialization in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering are some of the courses offered at SIU which are highly demanded. Such postgraduate programs as MBA, MCA, Master of Journalism and Mass Communications, Education, Commerce, Arts and Science streams also exist. The university has well-developed physical infrastructure, resources and amenities for students such as hi-tech laboratory, library, sports and recreational facilities, health care center and various recreational areas within the university.
