Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) is one of the country’s largest autonomous technical campus situated at Longowal, Sangrur district, Punjab. It was set up in 1989 and is approved by the AICTE and accredited by NAAC Grade ‘A+’. Currently, according to NIRF 2023 rankings announced recently, SLIET stands at 68th rank in engineering college in the country. The institute provides engineering, technology, sciences, humanities and all graduate and post graduate management as well as doctoral education. Located in an area of 500 acres of land and equipped with all the necessary facilities and infrastructure, SLIET’s vision is to provide technical education along with the all round development of the students including their personality, human values and social awareness.
Currently, SLIET provides 6 Undergraduate and 16 Post Graduate programs in various fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science& Engineering Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Food Technology, Materials & Metallurgical Engineering etc. Admissions are done in the month of April every year on the basis of score in national level entrance tests such as JEE Main, GATE etc The examinations are held in the mid of November to December and end semester examination are conducted in the month of May June. The cost of taking the course is between Rs. 35,000 and Rs. 2 lakhs per year depending on the preferred program. There are also need-cum-merit based scholarships for the students who are deserving and who come from economically weaker strata of society.

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination or any equivalent examination to biology, biotechnology, computer science and information technology or any other examination with at least 60% marks and must have taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as subjects in the above examination.
2. For candidates coming under SC/ST categories, the minimum percentage of marks in the above stated subjects in 10+2 examination is fifty five percent.
3. Admission to BTech programs requires clearing national level engineering entrance exams, for example, JEE Main.
4. For MTech, the candidate must possess a BTech/BE degree in the related field in science or engineering stream with minimum 60% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA from any recognized university.
5. Sponsored candidates are required for MTech programmes as per AICTE regulations and must have minimum two years full time work experience.
