Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat (Surat) which is also known as SVNIT Surat is one of the most eminent engineering and technology institutions of India. National Institute of Technology Patna (NIT Patna) is one of India’s 30 National Institutes of Technology established as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology in 1961 and in 2002 was given the status of National Institute of Technology (NIT). It is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and all its programs are NBA approved. It is also ranked among the institutions of good quality, with an NAAC grade of A++. SVNIT Surat was placed at 28th position as per the NIRF rankings with respect to all Indian engineering institutes.
It pursues imparting education in all major engineering and technology disciplines like computer engineering, Information technology, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and so on at the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels. Late submission of all the required documents by the right time is also a common offence. For admissions during 2024 the institute is expected to conduct JEE Mains and further follow counselling for UG/ admissions and GATE test for ME/MTech degree programmes.
SVNIT Surat has an excellent placement record with over 200 renowned multi national and Indian companies from core engineering, IT, finance, and consulting domains visiting the campus every year. 1. The candidate must have at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in both, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, if he/she passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with all these subjects.
2. Even candidates with the scores of 60%, passed from 12th standard and bachelor’s program can also apply. I studied B.Tech with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) or appeared GATE.
3. The top applicants for M.Tech admission must own B.E./B.Tech degrees. Must have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a related field with at least 60% in case of general category students.
4. For MBA pursing, a candidate should have possess a degree with minimum at least 60% (55% for SC/ST) Marks scored. Admissions Head considers valid scores of CAT/CMAT for a better selection.
5. Granted that for the direct PhD admissions, the candidates who have a master's degree in relevant subject will be eligible with their minimum 60% marks or their equivalent CPI/CGPA score. GATE/NET qualification is compulsory.
6. 5% concession in eligible criteria is promised to the physically disabled candidates. Moreover, there are confirmations according to the guidelines of the union government.

1. Candidates have to stand for such exams to reach the national level of engineering entrance exams like JEE Main or GATE. Leading on the bases of scores, SVNIT announces a cutoff and a merit list of qualified applicants.
2. In Under graduate admissions, students need to have 10+2 Exams Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those who want to get a postgraduate course must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology formerly.
3. Selection eligible candidates who in the institute’s website need to be registered online by the completion of application form and paying for the application fees.
4. Among those shortlisted, candidate’s documents are further verified and then seats are allotted contingent on merit, preferences and availability.
5. The next step for already selected candidates is to pay the necessary fees for admission which can be done either online or offline until the set time is available.
6. What follows is their reporting at the indicated department where they have to be physically present and confirm their admission by date specified. This also includes re-verification of their documents during this.
