Sarguja University is a university located in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, India which is affiliated to the state government. It was set up in 2008 and has grown tremendously to become one of the premier universities in the state. Sarguja University has got the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is recognized in the association of Indian Universities (AIU). NAAC accredited and certified it Grade B in 2016 The National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The NIRF Rankings 2023 were released recently and in that list Sarguja University has been placed in the NIRF category 101-150 among all Universities in India.
It provides numerous programs for students, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in different fields of study. Some of the general undergraduate courses that are offered at the campus by various faculties include: science, commerce, arts, education, law, and management science courses such as BSC, BCom, BA, BEd, LLB, and MBA. Admission process: The process begins from the month of May every year where the students can fill up the registration either online or offline and then have to take the university conducted common entrance test.

1. For undergraduate programs, Candidates should have completed their 10+2 passes or equivalent from any recognized board with not less than 50% marks for general category and 45% for reserved categories.
2. Minimum 50% marks in relevant subject at bachelor’s level for post graduate programs for normal category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PH category.
3. For MPhil, a master’s degree in the relevant subject with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
4. For PhD: The candidate must pass the postgraduate exam in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks and the entrance examination.
5. For diploma and certificate programs, pass in 10+2 or any equivalent qualification with the qualification from a recognized board.
6. Extra qualifying conditions may be set for individual courses such as BEd which needs a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with 50 percent marks and one language in 12th standard.
The placements at Sarguja University in Chhattisgarh have been improving gradually with the years. In the latest placement session of 2024, more than 60 companies, to which students were aspiring to get placed, offered employment opportunities to nearly 570 students. As per the placement data this year the highest salary was Rs 9 LPA and average salary was Rs 3.8 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies present in this year’s campus placements include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Accenture, Tech Mahindra which have placements in Engineering, MBA, MCA and Science fields. To summarize the placement cell is active and many organizations have been approached and some companies have MoUs with the college.
