Saurashtra University is one of the famous university in Rajkot, Gujarat that provides various courses in arts stream, science stream, commerce, computer applications, education, law and other fields also. The eligibility is different according to departments to a certain extent. For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com, 10+2 or equivalent qualification is mandatory with the relevant subjects to the course with maths skill. M.Sc. fields like Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics etc. need B.Sc. in relevant subject with minimum 50% aggregate marks to apply for a particular job. Major post graduate degrees such as M.A. Economics/English call for graduation in the respective subject. LLB expects candidate to have passed any graduation with a minimum of 45% marks. BCA requires 10+2 with Mathematics, but there are many courses which can be pursued in BCA like web designing, computer graphics, computer animations, digital and animation film making, etc. The university accepts HSC/CBSE/ICSE for UG courses while for PG courses, one have to possess a degree from this university or any other recognized university.

As for the most famous UG departments of the university, one can mention BSc, BA, BCom, BCA, and BBA. The admission criteria are different for different courses – For BSc programs, passing 12th science with aggregate minimum of fifty percent from any recognized board is mandatory BA requires 12th arts with at least forty-five percentage; BCom requires passing 12th commerce with forty five percent marks aggregate BCA requires 12th in any stream with Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science with at least fifty percent marks. The HSCE, CBSE, ICSE and university recognized diploma examinations are the only examinations that are acceptable as qualifying examinations for admission.

Saurashtra University in Rajkot is a University that offers Doctorate in courses Engineering, Science, Arts, Education, Commerce, Management, Law and Medicine and others as well. Based on the department, the eligibility criteria is different – for Engineering, candidate should possess Master’s degree in relevant specialization with minimum 55% marks & valid GATE/NET score. For PhD in Science, the candidate must possess a Master’s degree with at least 55% in the relevant subject along with NET qualification. For Arts & Humanities stream, one need to be master’s degree holder in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks and also ugc net or set qualified. The qualifying exams which are accepted are UGC NET, CSIR NET, SET, GATE, ICAR, etc., as applicable for the specialization offered in the PhD program.
