National Forensic Sciences University Gandhinagar has its School of Behavioral Science that provides numerous programs in the areas of psychology, criminology, and forensic science. The MSc Forensic Psychology is a program that is concerned with the relationship between law, criminal justice and individuals; applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, criminology or related fields. UGC NET, GATE and GUJCET examinations are considered valid. The MA Criminology and Justice program entails areas such as nature of crime, criminal law and justice systems and thus accepts candidates from any stream. Accepted exams are identical. The application procedure for the School of Behavioral Science at National Forensic Sciences University Gandhinagar can be of online as well as offline mode. Both online mode and offline mode are available for applying to the university, interested candidates can apply through the NFSU official website nfsu.ac.in or directly by visiting the university campus.
For the online application, the candidates should log on to the admission section of the INIFD website and then follow the steps which are mentioned in the application form. The School of Behavioral Science at National Forensic Sciences University Gandhinagar brings undergraduate programs in fields like Psychology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Cyber Psychology and Behaviour. The BSc Psychology program admits candidates who took National level exams such as NEET UG with a minimum of 100 marks for the General category. The BCriminology and Criminal Justice program also accepts NEET UG scores in addition to the integrated BSc-MSc degree. The BSc Cyber Psychology and Behavior programme is novelty that takes JEE main score along with 75% in 12th boards in any stream.
Undergraduate programs and streams available at the University include Science, forensic sciences, behavioral sciences and others. Some of the offered UG programmes include integrated BSc-MSc Forensic Science, BTech Computer Science and Engineering, BDes Design, BA Economics among others.
National Forensic Sciences University Gandhinagar has School of Behavioral Science offering PhD programs in Clinical Psychology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Forensic Psychology. The admission criteria for PhD programs differ slightly across departments and fields. For Clinical Psychology, candidates should have a Master’s degree in Psychology or related fields with a minimum of 55% marks. The qualifying tests recognized are UGC NET, UGC JRF, INSPIRE or any other equivalent test as recognized by NFSU. For Criminology and Criminal Justice, candidates should be from social sciences background with minimum 55% marks in post-graduation. UGC NET, UGC JRF, INSPIRE and any other equivalent tests are recognized qualifying exams. Similarly the eligibility criteria of Forensic Psychology PhD program also is post graduation in Psychology or relevant discipline with minimum of 55% in the preceding examination and passed UGC NET, SET, INSPIRE or any other equivalent test.
NFSU Gandhinagar has also full time PhD programs in Clinical Psychology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Forensic Document Examination, Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry and Forensic Physics.
