Eligibility:
- Masters degree in the relevant subject with atleast 55% marks (50% for SC/ST category of students) .
- Examination and interview in the university’s entrance exam.
Documents Required:
- The application form with all relevant fields duly completed.
- Photocopies of master’s degree certificate + mark sheets.
- Copies of Bachelor’s degree certificates and marksheets.
- S/P’s recent passport size photographs.
- A photocopy of any government issued identity proof with photo( Aadhaar card/PAN card etc.).
- résumé in case of candidates working in other organizations/colleges.
- Research proposal according to universities formatting and writing standards.
- Clearing statement of the entrance exam and interview results.
Admission Process:
- Apply on duly filled application before the last date.
- Those who clear the written entrance exam with objective and descriptive questions will be called to appear for the interview.
- Short-listed candidates will proceed to an interview by the departmental research committee.
- Final merit list will be prepared after awarding marks for both written test and interview.
- The candidates who are selected have to confirm their admission by furnishing necessary documents and payment of fees.
- The candidate should have a master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the master’s degree examination.
- All candidates must pass an entrance exam conducted by the university. They include research abilities, subject knowledge, etc.
- Students with high scores in the entrance exam are selected for interviews. The interview helps to determine the candidates’ research areas of interest, familiarity with subjects, communication skills, etc.
- Final selection is made based on the grades obtained in the entrance exam and interview and also on academic performance in the previous institution and accomplishments as well as the quality of the research proposal submitted.
- Candidates seeking admission to PhD must provide a provisional title of research in the area in which they wish to do research to be submitted alongside the application form. The content of the research proposal is one of the criteria.
- Goverment reservation rules may be applicable for SC/ST/OBC category candidates etc as per details.
1. See the university site or advertisement for the PhD notification and should be eligible for the same. The initial conditional requirement is possessing a master’s degree in the appropriate field with a certain percentage.
2. Choose a faculty supervisor/ guide from the list provided in the university website or the department and talk about your research interests. Their approval is required.
3. a) The PhD application form can be downloaded from the university website or you can collect it from the university office.
4. Complete the application form with all details – Personal Details, Education Background, Research Interest/Topic/area, and Proposed Guide Name.
5. enclose all required documents with the PhD application form such as photocopies of certificates of Xth/XIIth, undergrad and postgrad degrees, proof of experience if any, research proposal, NOC as the case may be.
6. The duly filled application form should be submitted before the last date along with the application/processing fees in the form of a demand draft drawn in the name of the university at the address mentioned below.
7. Appears for any written test/interview held (if conducted) for admission to PhD course as per date notified.
8. Selected candidates appear for PhD registration and pay prescribed PhD fees. Begin your research work with the help of your supervisor.
