SGRRU is a private university established in Dehradun, the capital city of the “Land of The Giants”; Uttarakhand. , which was set up in the year 2002, is under section 2 (f) & 12 (B) of the U.G.C Act. The university has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council where it received ‘A’ Grade in the year 2021; this is a rare achievement among universities. In the NIRF rankings 2023, SGRRU had been placed in the ranking zone of 151-200 for all universities in India.
It has a vast array of courses in different discipline of study at UG, PG and doctoral level. SGRRU is well recognized for its excellent placement record and this is attributed to its well-developed Training & Placement cell. More than 200 leading recruiters from different fields including IT, Healthcare, Education, Banking, Tourism, and Hospitality annually participate in recruitment drives at the campus. With the improvement of campus placement facilities, several prestigious organizations such as Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, IBM, HDFC Bank etc. have recruited the students of SGRRU. There was a record salary up to 18 LPA that has been offered to the students. In 2022 season, majority of the students who applied for placements, got placed that is above 80% with an average salary package of above 3-5 LPA which is indeed higher than the previous seasons. Shri Guru Ram Rai University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. To pursue Bachelors, the candidate must pass 10+2 in a relevant stream from any recognized board with minimum 50% marks. Certain programs require further qualifiers for admission.
2. For all BTech programs, the duration of which is 4 years, students should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Math’s with 60 % aggregate. Still, there are few concessions afforded to the reserved categories.
3. Master’s programs requires a relevant bachelor’s degree of a recognized University with not less than 50% aggregate score. A few of the programs have added conditions that must be met.
4. For MTech, a bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology in a relevant subject is compulsory with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
5. Courses for MPhil and PhD programs involve having a postgraduate degree in the relevant area of specialization with at least 55% marks. Candidate should qualify in entrance examination followed by an interview.
6. In case of professional courses such as LLB, BEd, the candidates have to meet certain regulatory standards as prescribed by the regulatory bodies like BCI for graduation or NCTE for teacher education along with the minimum %age in graduation.
