Sikkim Manipal University: SMU is a research and teaching university operating out of Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. Founded in 1995, it is one of the leading private higher learning institutions in Tanzania that provides diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various fields. SMU is under grade ‘A’ category by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in 2022, which signifies the quality of education provided to the students. SMU is a multidisciplinary university providing education in management, medical, pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, applied sciences, commerce and other related subjects. SMU will start accepting registration towards admission in the 2024 batch from Jan 2023. SMIT entrance exam is considered for the BTech course while SMUJECA is viewed as a major entrance exam for MBA degree. Sikkim Manipal University Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Department of Computer Science and Engineering: The candidates must have obtained minimum 60% marks in 10+2 in science stream with PCM and at the same time have scored well in JEE Main. It does not impose any age limit.
2. Department of Mechanical Engineering: Candidates must possess 10+2 with science stream in PCM with at least 55% marks. Passing marks has been relaxed by 5% for SC / ST candidates. The age bracket allowed is twenty five years.
3. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering: Students should have completed 12th class in science stream with minimum 50% in PCM. Only candidates of reserved categories will be considered if they have scored at least 45% in PCM.
4. Department of Civil Engineering: The candidates who can be considered in order to be interviewed should have completed grade 12 level of education in science related subjects with at least 50% aggregate of grade 12 level of education. A relaxation in age in the case of reserved category is also provided up to 28 years.
