The Sikkim State University Gangtok is a renowned university in Sikkim which offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Science, Arts, Commerce, Law, Education and many more Streams some of the popular courses include BSc Botany, Zoology, Chemistry the admission of this course is required 12th Science or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks. Candidate applies for admission in BCom in Accounting and Finance must have passed 12th in any stream with 50% marks. Applicants with a BA in subjects such as English, Sociology, Political Science, etc, must have completed their 12th standard in any group with at least 45% marks. MA/MSc courses in English, Chemistry, Botany, and other takes students with Graduation degree in the required subject with at least 50% marks. Some universities accept Sikkim SET/NET, GATE scores for admission to postgraduate programs as well.
As far as fields of study are concerned, the University has a number of choices for the students like BSc in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, BA in English, Nepali, History, Political Science, Sociology, BCom in Accounting and Finance, BLISc, BEd, BPES, ALLB, LLB, BJMC, MCA, MSc in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Botany, SSUET entrace examination is planned for May, 2024 and Semester examination will be conducted in November, 2023 & May, 2024. The admission process is carried out annually during the month of May. The procedure involves the first sitting of the University entrance test and afterwards the counseling session. Selection is done based on examination scores, academic performance, performance in entrance examination and evaluation conducted during the counseling session.

1. Go to the website of SSU Gangtok and check the link that says M.Phil admission notification.
2. Such things like the minimum requirement of the educational qualification, required percentage etc.
3. When the notification is out, download an admission form, and complete it appropriately.
4. With regards to the documents, make sure to upload documents such as degree certificates and mark sheets, if any.
5. Mark the form properly and submit the same to the university address not later than the last date.
6. Take the entrance test if any, based on the course/program of the student. Attend interview round.
7. This would involve checking the merit list when released and proceeding to take an admission.
8. Admission procedures are finalized by making payments of the necessary fees.
