The Sonepat Hindu Educational and Charitable Society (SHECS) was founded in 1914 with an objective of creating quality education at a cheaper price. SHECS has grown as a major educational group in the state of Haryana and currently has many colleges and educational institutions. It is approved and recognized by UGC, AICTE, BCI, NCTE, and PCI. SHECS was ranked in 2023 NIRF Rankings among the top 150 colleges in the country, which proved its quality education system. Recently in 2022, SHECS also got NAAC accreditation of Grade A+ to show its concern in the quality of education.

SHECS has a number of courses in all disciplines like engineering, pharmacy, education, management, law, agriculture etc. The session for 2024 admissions in all the institutes of SHECS will start from May, 2023. Students may apply online or they can use is off line mode. The entrance tests will likely be held in June-July 2023, and the results will be announced in August 2023 before the counselling begins. The admission will be under the categories of merit, qualifying examination and entrance examination. In general, the deadline for applying for most programs is August 2023. It is therefore recommended that all interested candidates should frequent the official college websites for accurate exam dates, application deadlines and other information on the selection process.  

SHECS has a good placement record with reputed companies like Amazon, IBM, Flipkart etc and many companies from the public sector have a fixed annual recruitment drive at the college. As per the placement statistics of 2022, the highest salary package was recorded as 18 LPA and the average package was recorded as 5 LPA. A total of 80 percent of the students were successfully placed in various institutions. Some of the industries that recruit students include information technology/software, manufacturing, consulting, education and health industries. Boasting of a Training & Placement cell, SHECS envisions achieving 100% placements in the coming years based on the institution’s relevant training. Sonepat Hindu Educational and Charitable Society Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)

1. The candidate should be an Indian national and a resident of Sonepat for the last three years to avail any program offered by SHECS. Preference given to those applicants who belong to low income families.  

2. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship programs include that the candidate must have passed Class 10 examinations with a minimum of 60% marks and whose family’s annual income must not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs.

3. For vocational training programs, applicants should have completed at least Class 8 and be within the age of 14 to 25 years. No income criteria.

4. There is no prescribed minimum educational standard for adult literacy programs but the candidates should be 25 years and above and should be from the economically disadvantaged group.

5. For availing Health Care Assistance the applicant must provide proof of income and the family income should be below Rs. 1 lakh annually. Health condition may also be evaluated.

6. To avail facilities at charitable hospital applicants must enclose copy of any ID proof indicating residence of Sonepat. Applicants who meet the requirements are offered free treatment, free medicine, and free tests.

Sonepat Hindu Educational and Charitable Society also known as SHECS provides various courses in engineering, pharmacy, management, education and science streams. SHECS was established in 1997 it currently manages several colleges in Sonepat, Haryana with an aim of offering quality education at cheap rates. 

The colleges/divisions under the purview of SHECS are Hindu College of Engineering and Hindu College of Pharmacy. The BTech programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering aim at providing training in the necessary competencies. Most of the pharmacy programs such as BPharm, MPharm, and PharmD include the use of the newest technologies and tendencies. Programs that are offered for management are BBA, MBA, BCom while BEd and DElEd are for developing quality teachers. In sciences, SHECS offers BSc and MSc over subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics etc.

The facilities for placements at Sonepat Hindu Educational and Charitable Society have been rising in accordance with the reputed organizations coming in the campus. In the academic year of 2021-22, a total of 97 students were placed in various sectors including TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc. The maximum salary offered to a student was INR 18.5 LPA by Microsoft and the median salary offered was INR 6 LPA. Placements were at 85% with primary recruiters including Accenture that offered jobs to 15 students with median salary of INR 7 LPA, Infosys that hired 12 students with average salary of INR 6.2 LPA, and Tech Mahindra that recruited 10 students with average salary of INR 5.3 LPA.
