Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit is situated in Kalady which is in the Kerala state of India. It is one of the premier universities set up in 1993 is devoted to the study of Sanskrit and other Indic disciplines. The university is recognized by UGC and was accorded NAAC accreditation with a B++ grade on the parameter of quality. As per the NIRF rankings of 2023 for universities in India, it stands at 65th position.
The university has numerous courses in every stream of studies such as Veda, Vyakarana, Nyaya, Meemamsa, Advaita Vedanta, Indian Philosophy, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Indian Languages, Performing Arts, Temple Architecture, Archaeology, Tourism, Management etc., and for most of the courses, the university conducts an entrance examination. Exam timings for the year 2024, which are generally scheduled in December, are usually stated in the month of November 2023. Some of its programs include undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of arts, science, commerce and management, education, humanities and social sciences, and technology in regular and distance mode up to the Ph.D level.
The university has placed many of its students with premier employers for placements as well as internships. The main organizations involved in the recruitment include Samskrita Bharati, Chinmaya International Foundation, Archaeological Survey of India, Oriental Research Institute Mysore, NSM School for Performing Arts and Indic Academy. More than 75% of the student were successfully placed in reputed organizations in Sanskrit and research organizations during the year 2022 with average salary package of Rs. 3,00,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/- for the fresher’s. Consequently, the maximum salary package that was offered in the campus recruitment was of Rs. 10 lakhs per annum.

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. Bachelor's Degree Programs: Candidates should have passed class XII from any Central / State Board recognized by the Indian Union with not less than 50 % aggregate marks. Some programs may require the applicants to possess other pre-requisites like familiarity with Sanskrit.
2. Master's Degree Programs: General eligibility to apply include possession of a Bachelor’s degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Certain programs call for a Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit that is recognized by the university.
3. MPhil Programs: One needs to have passed Master’s degree in the concerned discipline from any Government recognized University securing not less than 55% marks in aggregate. For some programs, NET/SET qualification may be necessary.
4. PhD Programs: Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are required to have a Master’s Degree with the aggregate of 55% marks in the relevant subject. NET/SET examinations are generally compulsory in most cases, although their clearing is not necessarily a guarantee for the award of the degree.
5. Diploma Programs: Students require prior qualification in Class 12 from any recognized board in any stream. The entry requirements may include possession of a Bachelor’s degree as well as minimum knowledge of Sanskrit for some diploma programs.
6. Certificate Programs: The University does not require certain minimum standard when it comes to admission of students into certificate programs of the University. Nevertheless, it is preferred if the candidate concerned has some basic knowledge of Sanskrit.

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit helps the students to get placing in various part of India. Core sectors that continue to hire in large numbers include ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Torrent Power, Vedanta, L&T Infotec etc. The maximum number of placements achieved was 80 in the year 2021 and the highest salary package given was Rs 6.5 lakhs per annum offered by Vedanta. The remuneration of the employees within the company varies depending on the position and rank of the workers; the median of the salary package offered is between Rs 3-4,00,000 per year. In the Academic year 2021-22, more than half of the Eligible students have been placed through campus placement.
