The process for admission to the 2024 batch of SKNAU with all the courses and streams will begin in April the next year. The major agriculture entrance tests are usually held from May-July 2023. This comprises of national level entrance examinations for agriculture such as JET Agriculture, ICAR’s AIEEA and state level SKNAU entrance examinations. The offered Undergraduate curriculum comprises BSc Agriculture, BSc Horticulture, BTech Ag Engineering, BSc Home Science, BVSc & AH (Veterinary), BFSc Fisheries Science, etc The Post Graduate studies are offered through various MSc and PhD research oriented program in the field of specialized agriculture. Any interested candidate must apply online at the indicated dates after ensuring he or she meets the requirements for the program of their choice. Furthermore, they are required to write the entrance examination for the concerned course if available for admission in the upcoming academic session of SKNAU in 2024.
Applications are invited for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and other related fields at Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University (SKNAU) Jaipur. The students can apply the admission both online through the official website www.sknau.ac.in and offline.
For online application, the visit SKNAU admission portal to register with your valid details to create a login name and password. Then, login and complete the application form according to the instructions given in the form. Scan and upload the photograph and signature as well as other required documents. Submit the application fees online. Make a photocopy of the completed form for future use.
For offline application, get the prospectus and the application form from the University counter on the payment of the necessary fees or can also be downloaded from the website. Complete the form legibly and enclose photocopies of documents. The completed application along with the fees should be deposited in the University office before the last date. Entrance test, if applicable, can be taken by downloading admit cards from student login IDs. The process of selecting students is fashioned by considering the cumulative grade point average and or entrance examination results.
- Student’s admissions in the BSc programs are strictly through entrance exam conducted by the university itself. It is a test of general intelligence, education, experience, and information on agriculture.
- Besides the entrance examination, admission process is also conducted on the basis of the candidates’ results in 10+2 examinations. The minimum requirement is to have passed the 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics group as optional subjects. Minimum aggregate percentage needed differ according to the programs and categories.
- According to the government rules, seats are divided into general, OBC, SC, ST and so on. There are specific percentages allocated to people from Rajasthan. Some seats are available for students through competitive examinations at national level such as ICAR AIEEA.
- The final merit list is drawn from the entrance test percentage, qualifying examination percentage, if any, quota-wise etc. Before the admission is finalized a Counseling session is conducted.
- There may be additional conditions such as clears certain subjects, interviews etc for some programs or disciplines.
1. Visit the university’s webpage which is http://www.sknau.ac.in and navigate to the admission/academics tab. Find the notification about B.Sc. admissions.
2. Ensure that you understand all requirements such as educational requirements, age limits among others and ensure you meet them.
3. When the application window is open, go to the website and create an account with a user name and password.
4. Complete the online application form and make sure to submit all necessary documents and information. This includes scan copies of marks sheets, certificates, photographs, signatures etc.
5. Make the application fee payment online through options like credit/debit card, net banking etc., preserve the confirmation page.
6. Finally, retain the copy of the final submitted application form along with the fee receipt for future use. Ensure that you submit your application before the stated deadline.
7. Please wait for the release of the merit list by the university. Find out if your name has been on students list for counseling and admission. Attend as per schedule.
8. Forward copies of all the required documents and fees for admission confirmation and other necessary enrollment processes as instructed by the university.
- Eligibility: The candidates should be holding the postgraduate degree in the relevant subject/discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST). Preference is usually given to candidates who have cleared UGC/CSIR-NET/Rajasthan SET exams.
- Entrance Test: Aspiring students are required to take a written entrance test which is conducted by the university itself. The exam determines the ability to do research, the mastery of a certain subject and general knowledge.
- Interview: Those candidates who clear the written examination and obtain at least the cutoff marks are invited for an interview. The interview also evaluates the research interest, ability, experience and subject knowledge of the candidates.
- Final Selection: A final ranking of the candidates is done after they sit the written examination and the interview. Government rules and regulation are strictly followed while making reservation for the candidates.
- Fellowship: Full-time PhD scholars may be considered for university fellowship or other research scheme fellowship if they meet the requirements and when these are available.

2. Choose a department and the possible advisor/supervisor for your area of specialization in your research. Talk to the potential partner and see which areas you both are interested in to come up with the right working relationship. The first step is, therefore, to get an advisor.
3. All relevant documents like transcripts, letters of recommendation, research proposal, statement of purpose etc. depending on the university requirements should be prepared. Thus, it is crucial to meet the eligibility criteria.
4. Ensure you submit your application before the published dates for each of the programs. Application review and admission process for PhD may sometimes require sometime.
5. In addition to the compulsory documents, it is advisable to be well prepared for any interviews, tests or performances that may be expected during admission. They are significant for the last choices.
6. Ensure that all application and programme fees are paid as and when due. Unpaid applications are generally not accepted or acted upon.
