Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) Chennai, a reputed Medical University has diversified academic programs in the fields of medicine, dentistry, allied health sciences, nursing, pharmacy, management, technology, basic sciences, applied sciences and humanities. The medical programs that are provided are MBBS, MD, MS, DM, MCh The eligibility criteria that have to be met are having a bachelor’s degree in any specified stream with not less than 50 percent in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For MBBS the candidature is open for the students who have passed NEET-UG. For all post graduate degrees in medical sciences such as MD, MS, MCh and DM the minimum eligibility criteria is MBBS degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks. In dentistry it offers BDS and MDS courses for which the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and must have obtained minimum 50 % marks. Bachelor of science in nursing, master of science in nursing courses are provided under the nursing department the following qualification for admission are required; candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

- Written tests : Most of the colleges include the scores obtained in the national/ state level tests such as GPAT, NIPER-JEE, APICET, etc. Some colleges conduct their own tests.
- Additional certification – Typically, a B.Pharma qualification is mandatory for the post along with a minimum requirement in terms of percentage that varies between 55-60%.
- Marks in qualifying exam – Here marks secured in B.Pharma are taken into account depending on the percentage/CGPA. The cut-offs, in fact, differ from one college to another.
