SVYASA, Bangalore is a deemed university working towards Yoga Education, Therapy, and research. They were providing courses in Yoga and Consciousness, Yoga Therapy, Yoga Philosophy, Integrated Medicine and many more. The rules on who can apply may also differ from one department to another. For Bachelors in Yogic Sciences The candidate must have passed 12th grade in any stream with an aggregate of minimum 50%. The following qualifying criteria are mandatory for admissions to Masters in Yoga Therapy: The candidates must have passed their Bachelor’s degree in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks. SVYASA Entrance Test (SET) and also national level UG Medical Entrance Examination NEET and Common Under Graduate Test CUCET are the accepted tests.
SVYASA has full time campus programs such as Bachelors in Yoga Therapy, Masters in Yoga Philosophy & Scientific Research, One-Year Diploma in Yoga Therapy, and Certificates Courses in Stress Management, etc. It also provides part time/distance learning facility like Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy, Yoga Philosophy, Meditation and Consciousness based healing. For the 2024 admissions - Registration is to begin from November 2023, The form filling process is expected to be completed by February 2024, The entrance examination will be held in the Month of March-April 2024, The result is expected to be declared in May 2024 and The classes are likely to start in the First week of July 2024. The admission process includes online registration & application, SET/national level test & score, minimum cutoff percentage, counseling round and fee payment confirmation. Other basic research methodology workshops are also conducted by various departments throughout the year to improve on the thesis work culture.
SVYASA is a Yoga University and Yoga Research Institution located in Bangalore, India offering numerous diploma, graduate and postgraduate courses in yoga and other health science streams. As for admission, students are also able to apply online and through paper forms as well.
To apply online, prospective candidates will have to navigate to the SVYASA admission page with the link admissions.svyasa.edu.in and complete the application form by submitting all necessary information as of academic, communication and course preferences. Finally, they require submitting scanned copies of their documents alongside the application fee that is also accepted online in order to get through the final phase of the application process.
In the case of the offline mode, the prospectus and application forms can be downloaded from the official website of the university, svyasa.edu.in or the prospectus and the application forms can be procured by visiting the university and approaching the admission office. The requisite filled in forms have to be attached with photo copies of relevant documents and application fees have to be submitted before the deadline. It means that the selection of future entrants is made on the basis of qualifications, entrance examinations and/or interview. For other programs, the admission process is usually in April of every year for program that commence in July. - The selection process in SVYASA includes an entrance test and interview only and the entrance test is conducted by the institute itself. The entrance test is organized to assess the yoga knowledge and skills, general intelligence, and domain familiarity.
- It has been mentioned that additional significance is attached to those candidates who have certification or diploma in yoga. Prior working experience specially in yoga field is also preferred.
- The final list is drawn based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance test, interview, academic scores, and yogic qualification/experty.
- The availability of seats and the norms of reservation will be governed by the rules of SVYASA and various government rules and regulations.
1. The window for applying to the B.Sc program at SVYASA is available on the website or in admission notification for the year. This is usually sometime in April and May depending on the dates set for the university and polytechnic exams.
2. After the applications are open, go to the SVYASA admissions tab and search for the B.Sc program that was mentioned and apply for it online.
3. Go to the school’s website and open the application form, complete the form with all the information that is asked including personal information, academic achievements and other contacts.
4. Upload the scanned copies of other documents as per the instructions given by them – photo, signature and other documents like, age proof, 10th and 12th mark sheets etc.
5. The application fee can be paid online through the internet bank/bank transfer/credit/ debit card etc.
6. Enclose the application with all the information that is required and make sure to write down the registration information. It’s important to preview the final submission before submitting it.
7. After a while, look for an announcement from SVYASA on which candidates have been shortlisted and if your name appears on the list. Candidates who made selections will be invited for counseling and document verification.
8. Continue attending counseling sessions as planned; provide and verify authenticity of their documents; and confirm their admission status by paying the initial tuition fees.
- Admission normally occur in the first semester through their website or in any other print media they deem appropriate. The application period usually last for 1-2 months, depending on the organisation that is implementing the program.
- There are certain guidelines to meet the eligibility criteria which include the candidate must have a Master’s degree in Yoga or any other related subject with the required percentage of marks. - Acceptance of students grants them a fellowship for their time in the program. This is a full time program where the learner attends classes normally taking 3-5years to complete the course.

- As for the academic qualification, the candidates must have completed their master’s degree in Yoga or any other relevant field and must have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- SVYASA conducts an entrance examination to test the abilities of the candidates and admit them into the institution. It contains questions on existing literature on yoga, concepts of yoga and its science, methodology of research, and english language proficiency.
- For those who have been nominated to sit for the written examination, they will sit for an interview. The interview also assesses the candidate’s subject knowledge, research skills, and attitude toward the Ph.D. programme.
- Candidates are also required to present an idea about the research area that they wish to pursue in order to correlate with the faculty’s interest, along with the research activities that are presently being carried out in SVYASA.
- Also, compulsory eligibility criteria include NET/SLET score or MPhil degree and though these may be waived in certain cases.
1. To ensure that you qualify you should ensure that you go through the eligibility criteria on S-VYASA website or in the prospectus. The common eligibility criteria are minimum 55% in master’s degree and other requirement is that the candidate must be a teacher.
2. Find a part-time online doctoral supervisor among the faculty members of S-VYASA, who will align with your research areas of interest. They are also likely to be interested in teams located far away from them; therefore, you should send them an email indicating your interest in them.
3. After identifying and securing the consent of a faculty member who is willing to guide you, download the Ph.D admission application form in the form of notifications posted on the S-VYASA website.
4. Complete the application form in full including all the personal information necessary, as well as the enclosures such as the research proposal, references, and any previous degrees/marksheets etc The proposal should be connected to Yoga and be endorsed by your chosen supervisor.
5. Enclose the application form with other necessary documents including entrance exam fees (if any) before the admissions deadline. It is common practice to advertise the availability of the applications twice a year.
6. Take an entrance written examination and/or oral test, as the case may be. To add to this, S-VYASA holds its own entrance examination for students who want to pursue PhD.
7. Incase one is fortunate to be selected, then undergo through the other admission processes by paying requisite fees as and when due. It is advisable to wait until S-VYASA sends an official admission confirmation regarding the admission status.
