The TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS) is an institute that offers education and research facilities in sustainable development and relevant fields. The institute was established in 1998 by The Energy and Resources Institute popularly known as TERI and is approved by the UGC and is accredited ‘A’ grade by NAAC. TERI SAS holds the NIRF ranking of 65 as per 2023; it provides masters and PhD course in interdisciplinary streams.
TERI SAS provides a number of academic programmes in different fields of study including Natural Resources Management and Environment, Energy, Economics, Policy and Planning, Biotechnology, Social Sciences and others. Some of the well known masters programmes are Masters in Climate Science and Policy, Masters in Environmental Studies and Resource Management, Masters in Sustainable Development Practice, MBA Infrastructure MBA Business Sustainability. It has its own eligibility standards and the candidate has to write an admission test and face interview session.

1. Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for admission to master’s programs.
2. For MPhil and PhD programs, the candidate should possess a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in the relevant field with not less than 55% marks or its equivalent pass grade.
3. Original score in Management entrance tests such as CAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT if the candidate is applying for management programs.
4. In regards to employment, the executive education programs require candidates to have two years of work experience.
5. First and foremost, a good academic profile and effective communication skills for all programs.
6. Other obligations may include interview, statement of purpose, letters of recommendation depending on the type of study being pursued.
TERI School of Advanced Studies has been consistently ranked well in terms of placements for postgraduate programs. Some of the better known recruitment agents are Accenture, Deloitte, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro amongst others. The maximum annual package last year in 2023 was INR 18.5 LPA and the median annual package was INR 8.2 LPA. With respect to placement the 2023 graduating batch for all programs have placement percentage above 95%. Career opportunities include consulting, analytical, research, sustainability, and corporate planning & strategy positions with energy companies, environment agencies, regulatory bodies, think tanks and others. To aid the students, the school has a placement assistance cell dedicated exclusively for the purpose.
