Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala known as TIET is one of the most prestigious institute for engineering studies in India. Formerly known as Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, the institute was granted the status of a deemed university under the Universities Grant Commission in the year 1985. This institution currently has nine degree courses in the field of BTech including Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering among others. Some key events and dates related to BTech admissions 2024 are JEE Main examination date as January 2024 and TIET examination date in second week of April 2024. The admission process includes qualifying JEE Main, applying for TIET exam, appearing in the entrance test and then joining the counselling. In the vein of placement, 85% of the students belonging to UG eligible students got placed with the average salary increasing to 8 Lakh per annum in 2022 placement, thereby proving the high employment opportunities that exist for students graduating from TIET.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) has always displayed a high percentage of employment rates for its graduates. More than 500 reputed companies have been visiting theTIET campus for placement every year and some of the prominent and well-known IT majors such as Amazon, Microsoft, Infosys etc. In year 2021, the maximum salary offered was INR 43.33 LPA by Directi for the students, median salary offered was INR 8.36 LPA. The university was able to achieve 91% placement of the eligible students in campus placements during 2021.
