The University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences Shivamogga commonly known as UAS, Shivamogga is a public university established in the state of Karnataka, India specializing in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, and allied disciplines. It was started in 2009 and is NAAC Grade A, and according to NIRF 2023, it stands 75th. This university has various programs that it provides at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels spanning across its nine colleges and thirty departments.
Among the degree programs in the university are BSc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Sericulture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation among others. Masters level comprises of MSc in Agricultural Economics, Genetics & Plant Breeding, Seed Science & Technology, Horticulture. The admission process for a particular batch, especially the batch of 2024 is based on the aptitude test taken by the university and merit of the exam conducted for admissions.

1. Candidates having 10+2 passed in science stream and having minimum 50% marks as eligibility criteria for under graduation.
2. Standard 12 pass with minimum 50 percent marks but for postgraduate programs, the candidate should hold bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
3. Undergraduate programs: Any person who has completed their 17 years of age can join without having any upper age limit.
4. Thus, relaxation of marks for the reserved category candidates as per the norms.
5. Like ICAR/CAT/GAT for some programs along with the qualifying examination score
6. As for other certificates, physical fitness certificate is also necessary in some cases, as well as domicile certificate.
Excellent placement results are observed in reputable companies that are in the field of agriculture, horticulture, food technology, and related industries at University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences. The top recruiters are ITC, Godrej Agrovet, Mahindra Agri, Nuziveedu Seeds, and Rallis India where they offer graduate management trainee, Agriculture officer, Food technologist roles. The highest salary was given by ITC of INR 18.5 LPA in 2023. The approximate cost to company offered for the salary package of the students is between INR 6-8 LPA.
