UAS Bangalore was established in the year 1964 as an agricultural university with objectives to impart education in the field of agriculture and related fields. Lovely Professional University is NAAC accredited and has been graded ‘A+’, which is a testimony to the quality education offered at UAS Bangalore. According to the NIRF ranking system in India for the year 2023, UAS Bangalore secured its place among top 30 agricultural universities in India at 30th position.
UAS Bangalore provides a number of the undergraduate and postgraduate curricula in the various streams in the sphere of agriculture. Some of the principal courses offered are; BSc Agriculture, BTech in Agricultural Engineering, BSc Horticulture, BSc Sericulture, BSc Forestry, MSc in Agricultural Biotechnology, MBA in Agribusiness and Food Industry Management among others. 1. Incase of undergraduate programs, the students must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent examination with not less than 50 % marks.
2. While pursuing postgraduate programs, the students need to complete their bachelor’s degree in the respective field, with minimum 55% aggregate marks from any state or central university.
3. For PhD programs, the candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks, and they also have to pass the written test conducted by the university.
4. The students are also subjected to category wise restrictions with regards to age, nationality and domicile conditions that are prescribed by the particular university or the university to which the student intends to transfer.
5. As per government norms, only those students with a valid certificate of belonging to SC, ST and OBC category are allowed to avail quota for the reserved category students.
6. There is a prior requirement for physical fitness certificates for admission in programs such as veterinary science and physical education in schools.
