UAS is located in Bangalore and is one of the premier agricultural universities in India with a rich history spanning decades. It was established in 1964 and has had a good reputation of offering quality agricultural education and is accredited and affiliated to ICAR, recognized by UGC as a University with Potential for Excellence and has been accredited Grade A by NAAC. The NIRF Ranking of UAS Bangalore in the year 2023 placed it at 8 th rank among the Agricultural Universities of India. Initially established in 1946, UAS Bangalore is a large campus spread across 503 acres of land, and it comprises 8 colleges that teach a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries, etc.
The UAS Bangalore prepares students for careers in 15 different fields that include Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Agribusiness Management and many more. The programs in Masters are provided in 38 disciplines while in Doctorate in 45 disciplines related to agriculture sciences. Some of the important dates includes: The UG admission test is conducted every June of the year while for the PG admission it is an entrance examination that is conducted in either May or June of the year as well. The application process normally begins in April for admissions to the next academic year which starts in August. Based on previous academic results, and entrance examination results or personal interviews if applicable.
For placement, every year the university has placement cell to provide placements to the students of UAS Bangalore. More than 150 key employers from agricultural and processing sectors, banking, agri-input, agri-machinery manufacturing industries, and other related fields offer jobs to the students passing out from UAS Bangalore. The players involved in the Indian biopesticides industry are Indian Council of Agriculture Research ICAR, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics ICRISAT, Rallis India Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited Nestle India Limited Cargill India Private Limited ITC Limited NAFED Godrej Agrovet Limited among others. More than 80% of the eligible students get placed for these companies with an average entry level consolidated package ranging from 4-7 lakhs per month for undergraduate and 7-12 lakhs per month for postgraduate and PhD scholars in agricultural sciences.

1. Should have cleared 10+2 or its equivalent exam with 50% marks in the Science stream, including Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Math.
2. Should have appeared for agriculture/biology related entrance exam conducted by the university or any other University/ Institution/Agency.
3. For BSc programs the admission can be done after 10+2 for students from any stream are allowed.
4. The admission requirement for the Master of Science (MSc) programme include a BSc degree in agriculture or any related field with 50% marks or equivalent.
5. It can be obtained from the school website from the month of June and must be filled before the last week of July with the entrance exam fee.
6. August each year is set aside for Entrance exam while results are released in September of the same year and admission through counseling.
