The University of Rajasthan (UOR) is a public state university situated in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was founded in the year of 1947 and hence it is one of the oldest universities within the state. University of Rajasthan is a government university and is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and has graded as A with 3.51 CGPA score by NAAC. The NIRF 2023 ranking has placed University of Rajasthan in the 101-150 band in the overall ranking and in category 57 under the university ranking.
It has a total of 18 undergraduate and postgraduate programs to its credits in the faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Management, Social Science, Fine Arts, and Music & Dance. Some of these majors include BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BJMC, LLB, BEd, MSc, MA, MCom, MBA, MCA and so forth. The annual / semester exams are carried out during November – December and May-June every year . May is the deadline for the first semester UG courses while for PG courses its June, with the university conducting the entrance exam and conduct for seat allotment for reservations and merit. This means that the last date to apply for admissions to the 2024-25 batch is normally the third week of June.
The placement scenario of University of Rajasthan has been very encouraging when it comes to placements. Some of the recruiters of the campus placement drives are: Infosys, Wipro, IBM, HDFC bank, ICICI bank, Federal bank, Iflex Solutions, Capgemini, Hindustan Zinc Ltd., etc. Over 500 candidates have been placed in the companies last year : the highest salary package was Rs.16.5 LPA and the average salary package was Rs. 4LPA. Placement to overall percentage remains above 75% for the 2021-22 graduating batch across different streams.

The University of Rajasthan ,Jaipur,Rajasthan,is a multi faculty University affiliating several colleges and institutions in Rajasthan and offering a number of undergraduate and postgraduate and doctoral programs in faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Management, Social Science, Fine Arts and Engineering. Popular courses are BA/BCom/BSc/MA/MSc/MCom/ MBA/BED/LLB/MCA and courses offered in specialization subjects like Mass communication/Travel and Tourism/Textile designing etc. Entry to most of the UG programs is on the basis of merit of a particular qualifying examination. For post-graduate courses entrances is the criteria for admission. Course fees vary from course to course and are between INR 5000 and INR 1 lakh per annum. Besides the main campus at Jaipur, the University has many other colleges affiliated to it in different parts of the state. University of Rajasthan boasts of good placements for the students every year. Companies that come to campus for recruiting students are; Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture etc. The best offer received in 2021 was Rs 18,00,000 per annum from an IT services firm. The total average compensation offered to the employees in the branch offices is Rs 6.2 lakh per annum. Statistics from Six3Six say that more than 75% of availabe eligible students got placed in reputable firms in 2021.
