The State of Uttarakhand Technical University also known as UTU is a public university located in Dehradun. UTU was established in 2005 and is recognized by the University Grants Commission and has graded NAAC with A. In 2023 the national institutional ranking framework (NIRF) ranking UTU ranked number 151 among all Indian universities. UTU provides post graduate, post graduate degrees and doctoral areas of Engineering and Technology, Management Studies, Pharmacy, Architecture and Applied Sciences. The university has had more than 150 recognized teaching centers spread in the state of Uttarakhand. The institution boasts of the support of industry and academia and hopes to continue to offer quality technical education to meet the employment and civic needs of the country .
UTU courses are available in BTech in various disciplines such as Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Chemical, Biotechnology among others. There is no direct entry into BTech programs as entry is through national or state level engineering and technology examinations. In the postgraduate level, the University of Technology and University UG – UTU provide MTech and MPharm degrees in the following specializations. Other postgraduate and undergraduate programs offered by the institution include MCA, MBA and BPharm among others. Students of the 2022 batch of the UTU campus were able to get 85% placements, with the highest salary being INR 18 LPA. The median salary offered to the candidates was INR 5 LPA.
