Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, also known as VSS University or VSS Tech, located in Burla, Odisha is a public technical and research university. VSSUT was set up in the year 1956, and it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Bhubaneswar and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi. It has been accredited in 2016 by NAAC with ‘A’ grade for its credibility and research in higher education. In the NIRF rankings 2023 the VSSUT is ranked 75 among all Engineering colleges in the country.
The university carries out its activities in the following specialization: undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD in engineering, technology, management. The major streams it offers are Civil, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunications, Chemical, MBA, MCA. Semester examinations are conducted twice a year during the months of November – December and April – May respectively. The BTech programmes involve admission through OJEE/JEE Mains or Counselling and the MTech admissions are done on the basis of GATE scores and MBA / MCA admissions are through OJEE or other national level tests. It is anticipated that the application would begin in approximately March 2024 for the academic year 2024.

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Eligibility Criteria 2024 (by Departments)
1. For admission in undergraduate engineering courses, it is mandatory to clear the 10+2 examination with mathematics, Physics, and chemistry as the subjects with 50 % marks in aggregate for general category and 45% for SC/ST/OBC.
2. The eligibility criteria for admission into undergraduate pharmacy programs requires candidates to pass 10+2 exams in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and scored 50% aggregate marks in the 10+2 examinations or 45 % for reserved category candidates.
3. The candidates are required to clear 10+2 examinations with Mathematics subject for seeking admission in undergraduate program in architecture and must obtain 50% marks in aggregate for general category and 45% for SC/St category.
4. For PG courses, there is a requirement to have completion of graduation and scoring minimum 50% aggregate marks in bachelor’s degree (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates) from a recognized university/institute.
5. Candidates who are going to appear for their qualifying examinations can also apply for programs on a provisional basis also, provided they fulfill the conditions of admission laid down by the Institute at the time of admission.
